I had a busy day. We have these zuchini vines that produce zuchini so fast if we don't seek and destroy them, they grow as big as baseball bats and are about as tasty as one. Maybe the Yankees need a zuchini baseball bat...
Talking about losers...reminds me of Bush. The ferrier came today. He had to trim Sparky's hooves. It was very hot and humid. As soon as he lifted Sparky's hoof and began to trim it, the horse realized someone was holding him up so he let go and drooped right on top of the poor horse shoer who is much smaller. We poked at Sparky and I scolded him. So he gummed on my arm and gave me a sly look. So I poked at him. Then Chris came over and together, we kept him in line.
Well, a horse knows when he can laze about and so do humans only this summer I sense people are not feeling lazy or slow but are getting more and more energetic.
From Zogby Polling:
President Bush’s televised address to the nation produced no noticeable bounce in his approval numbers, with his job approval rating slipping a point from a week ago, to 43%, in the latest Zogby International poll. And, in a sign of continuing polarization, more than two-in-five voters (42%) say they would favor impeachment proceedings if it is found the President misled the nation about his reasons for going to war with Iraq.Indeed. What a surprise...snicker.
In a sign of the continuing partisan division of the nation, more than two-in-five (42%) voters say that, if it is found that President Bush did not tell the truth about his reasons for going to war with Iraq, Congress should hold him accountable through impeachment. While half (50%) of respondents do not hold this view, supporters of impeachment outweigh opponents in some parts of the country.I don't think Bush is going to visit Arnie the Terminator very soon. And the housing market there is still hot! Imagine the anger that is inevitable when the market dies, as it will.,
Among those living in the Western states, a 52% majority favors Congress using the impeachment mechanism while just 41% are opposed; in Eastern states, 49% are in favor and 45% opposed. In the South, meanwhile, impeachment is opposed by three-in-five voters (60%) and supported by just one-in-three (34%); in the Central/Great Lakes region, 52% are opposed and 38% in favor.
A large majority of Democrats (59%) say they agree that the President should be impeached if he lied about Iraq, while just three-in-ten (30%) disagree. Among President Bush’s fellow Republicans, a full one-in-four (25%) indicate they would favor impeaching the President under these circumstances, while seven-in-ten (70%) do not. Independents are more closely divided, with 43% favoring impeachment and 49% opposed.Geeze. The GOP was so hot to trot to impeach over a blue dress and lying about a blow job but lying about raining blows upon Iraq is OK with them. All isn't fair in love but is in war.
Pollster John Zogby: “The nation continues to be split down the middle but there appears to be a deep and growing concern about how polarized we are. The President tried to address the situation on the ground in Iraq and hoped to allay the fears of the nation. It looks like that did not happen. Meanwhile, opposition to the war reveals that Americans are just as hostile and intense as they were the day after the 2004 election. The message seems to be pretty clear for Mr. Bush: lay off the partisan rhetoric and work to find compromise solutions.”Sorry, Mr. Zogby, it is way way way too late for that. People are dead. They won't come alive again. There is no second chance. Our nation's position in the world has been destroyed. China is considered to be a fairer, more democratic, nicer and trustworthy nation than America abroad! This is ridiculous. For that alone, Bush should be impeached!
He made us the laughing stock of the earth. He increased our enemies and gave them reason to persevere.
From the Watergate Impeachment documents:
The means used to implement this course of conduct or plan included one or more of the following:Just change a few of the items here and we got an impeachment!
&spades making false or misleading statements to lawfully authorized investigative officers and employees of the United States; Lying about the WMD and the yellow cake forgeries come under this one.
&spades withholding relevant and material evidence or information from lawfully authorized investigative officers and employees of the United States; We nail Cheney on this one, too. Too bad our Supreme Court now sided with hiding relevant facts from the People.
&spades approving, condoning, acquiescing in, and counselling witnesses with respect to the giving of false or misleading statements to lawfully authorized investigative officers and employees of the United States and false or misleading testimony in duly instituted judicial and congressional proceedings; Oh, for a tape recorder running in the White House! Or a Deep Thoat or two!
&spades interfering or endeavouring to interfere with the conduct of investigations by the Department of Justice of the United States, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the office of Watergate Special Prosecution Force, and Congressional Committees;
&spades approving, condoning, and acquiescing in, the surreptitious payment of substantial sums of money for the purpose of obtaining the silence or influencing the testimony of witnesses, potential witnesses or individuals who participated in such unlawful entry and other illegal activities; I think we can accomodate this in his inditement. Bribing everyone using public funds, giving them tax cuts while running up the public debt! Serious grounds for impeachement!
&spades endeavouring to misuse the Central Intelligence Agency, an agency of the United States;
&spades disseminating information received from officers of the Department of Justice of the United States to subjects of investigations conducted by lawfully authorized investigative officers and employees of the United States, for the purpose of aiding and assisting such subjects in their attempts to avoid criminal liability; All those generals and Rumsfeld who condoned and did the torture, the CIA agents and the FBI interrogators, all of them skipping off, scot free while the lowest of the guards were put in jail...certainly, grounds for impeachment.
&spades making or causing to be made false or misleading public statements for the purpose of deceiving the people of the United States into believing that a thorough and complete investigation had been conducted with respect to allegations of misconduct on the part of personnel of the executive branch of the United States and personnel of the Committee for the Re-election of the President, and that there was no involvement of such personnel in such misconduct: or
endeavouring to cause prospective defendants, and individuals duly tried and convicted, to expect favoured treatment and consideration in return for their silence or false testimony, or rewarding individuals for their silence or false testimony. In Bush's case, getting the CIA memo, "Bin Laden determined to strike in the USA" and then ignoring it so he could stay on vacation is certainly grounds for impeachment. His slack jawed book reading session when America was under attack...Rumsfeld's goofing off while people jumped out of the top windows of the WTC...all grounds for impeachment! Take them all down.
America is angry and demoralized. We are very divided and Bush claimed to be a uniter and not a divider so for this lie above all, he should be impeached. He didn't even try slightly to modify his radical, right wing agenda. Not once did he reach out to others. Either internationally or at home. My way or the highway was his mantra and even last fall after a very squirrely election where Bush and his minions mocked a war hero so outrageously they competely destroyed the entire point of earning medals and fighting honorably instead of hiding out at home like they all did during Nam...this is grounds for impeachment. He talked about how he won a mandate and was going to "spend it". It is spent, all right.
He should resign.
