Karl Rove, in NYC, kicked off a veritable storm on the left with his speech that all but called for patriotic Americans to be put in prison camps, a favorite topic for the fascists running America into the ground. When Bush suggested that Democrats in the Senate didn't fight for America, back right after 9/11, when he was very popular, poor Senator Daschle rose in fury on the floor of the Senate and denounced him only to be slapped in the face by the American media who demanded he apologize instead.

So the AWOL President smirked as all the Democrats who were real vets apologized abjectly.

Hoping to recreate those Glory Days, Bush and his minions in the press have been trying to repeat this game. It succeeded with poor Durbin who knuckled under unlike Dean and bowed to the floor before these fake patriots. Then they wrapped themselves in a burning flag and went forth, attacking any and all liberals and Democrats, calling us traitors over and over again. Weaklings and traitors.

Meanwhile, our volunteers from the right collapse as even hysterical Republicans run away from a war they wanted and created.

From the Albany Times-Union:
A battle broke out Thursday between New York's Democrats and Republicans over remarks made about the 9/11 attacks by President Bush's top political adviser, Karl Rove, at a state Conservative Party fund-raiser in Manhattan.
Democratic U.S. Sens. Hillary Rodham Clinton and Charles Schumer said Rove should apologize for comments he made Wednesday night they considered critical of Democrats.

At the fund-raiser, Rowe said: "Conservatives saw the savagery of 9/11 and the attacks and prepared for war; liberals saw the savagery of the 9/11 attacks and wanted to prepare indictments and offer therapy and understanding for our attackers."

Rove also said: "Conservatives saw what happened to us on 9/11 and said, 'We will defeat our enemies.' Liberals saw what happened to us and said, 'We must understand our enemies.' "

Joined by state Democratic Party Chairman Herman "Denny" Farrell, Clinton and Schumer called on Republican Gov. George Pataki, who also spoke at the event, to repudiate Rove's comments. But the governor refused, calling Clinton's request "hypocritical."

Clinton said Rove's lofty position as Bush's deputy chief of staff made an apology from him all the more necessary.

"To go to New York City and say what he said is just almost unimaginable," she said. "Either he said something in a hasty, ill-conceived, reckless moment ... or he said it deliberately, as part of a continuing effort to divide Americans."
Every time a GOP guy says something hideous like when Helms said Clinton should stay away from South Carolina because he would be murdered there---not one Republican rushes to the TV stations to denounce a fellow GOPer. Not once. Not even John "stab me in the back" McCain. They will even snarl at us like so called liberal Republican, Pataki, reflexively does.

There is no point in being even slightly nice with a party that is this partisan and hateful which is why I now write like I do, using the word "traitor" to describe the war party that refuses to fight wars they start, trying to shove my son into their battles. They call me a traitor, well, sorry, but I am not the coward here nor are any of us on the left.

From the Guardian:
A White House official said Friday the administration finds it ``somewhat puzzling'' that Democrats are demanding presidential adviser Karl Rove's apology or resignation for implying that liberals are soft on terrorism.

``I think Karl was very specific, very accurate, in who he was pointing out,'' communications director Dan Bartlett said. ``It's touched a chord with these Democrats. I'm not sure why.''
Mirror, mirror, guys! Liberal Clinton, within minutes of the embassy bombings in Africa, launched missiles at bin Laden's camp, nearly killing him. Bush, on the other hand, gave old bin Buddy plenty of warning and came at him very slowly, glacially, and when bin Laden skipped merrily off to taunt us regularily, Bush gave up and said, "He doesn't matter anymore." So who is tough on terrorist? Eh? I hear the wind sighing! Crickets chirping!
Congressional Republicans earlier joined the White House in standing solidly behind Rove, saying he shouldn't apologize and that he was outlining a philosophical divide between a president who sought to win the war on terrorism by taking the fight to the enemy and Democrats who questioned that approach.
Dear Democratic Party: note this paragraph, please. The liberal Republicans lined up behind Karl "liberals are traitors" Rove! See what your coddling of them has wrought? They are not our friends. They are our sworn enemies for they have drawn a line and put us on the "traitor" side and they don't care if we yell. They want their pork.

From Xinhuanet news in China:
The United States' image is so tattered overseas two years after the Iraq invasion that China is viewed more favorably than the U.S. in western countries, an international poll found.

"The Iraq war has left an enduring impression on the minds of people around the world in ways that make them very suspicious of U.S. intentions and makes the effort to win hearts and minds far more difficult," said Shibley Telhami, a senior fellow at the Brookings Institution.

The overseas image of the United States slipped sharply after the Iraq invasion in 2003, the Pew polling found, and it has not rebounded in Western European countries like Britain, France, Germany and Spain. The U.S. image remains relatively poor in Muslim countries like Jordan and Pakistan, but has bounced back in Indonesia, the world's most populous Muslim country which benefited from U.S. aid to tsunami victims, as well as in India and Russia.

Support for the U.S.-led war on terror has dipped in European countries like Britain, France, Germany, Canada and Spain, while it remains low in the Muslim countries surveyed like Pakistan, Turkey and Jordan.
Yes, the GOP war plans have been great...for China! We are now the Evil Empire. Way to go! Brainy! A success...if you are a traitor to America.

This is serious stuff. We are losing allies and not gaining allies. This is grounds for arresting Bush for treason for he is making things much unsafer for America. And he stopped looking for bin Laden! Even the head of the CIA claims he knows where bin Laden is hiding but is so gingerly about touching our buddies who are hiding him, we can't do anything!

This is the powerful GOP fight? Incredible! This is patriotic struggle? Give me a break! This is their plan? To allow their buddies to sneer at us and harbor bin Laden?

And we are what? Weaklings? Huh?

Give me a break. Or rather, give me Rove's neck.
