This picture was taken several days after the killer hurricane hit. It is John McCain, a man who supports deserters and traitors, being saluted by Bush over a cake. While they laughed and joked and stuffed their faces, thousands were dying. While they talked about killing Social Security, thousands were dying. While they ate, thousands were starving to death.

Both men don't give a flying fig for dying Americans. They don't care one whit. Both should have been rallying the nation to save the hundreds of thousands who were in grave danger but they didn't. Neither man wanted to be bothered. They were happy and dry in Arizona! They were having a party at an exclusive golf course. This is their reality: the cannibals feasting in Eden while whole slabs of humanity roast.

McCain succeeded in pretending he was a patriot but every time push came to shove, he helped Bush shove granny down the stairs. He is a senior citizen with juvenile maturity. He is very rich, very protected. He has doctors and servants and food and shelter with multiple houses. All our rulers have multiple houses. When Lott's house blew out, he stayed in his other houses.

The Cheneys are buying a palace today to add to their collection of houses.
Bush pretending to work, only for the cameras, touring Mississippi with fire fighters that were supposed to be flown into burning New Orleans but were sidetracked so they could pose with him so he could invoke images of 9/11.
Soldier walks past burning house in New Orleans Tuesday. No fire fighters.

This is our second 9/11. And that anniversary isn't even here yet! The Pentagon still has plans this weekend for a pro-war march and songfest in Berlin Washington, DC. Rummy is laying low due to the reality that troops in Iraq are in near mutiny right now, the National Guard freaking out over their displaced duties.

From Think Progress, a timeline of events before the media begins their warping of reality to fit Cinderella Bubble Boy's dainty feet like they did on 9/11, openly lying about events and when things happened, for example, lying about when Bush learned about the first attack as well as how long he lingered in the school during it.
From Think Progress:
Monday, August 29

8AM – MAYOR NAGIN REPORTS THAT WATER IS FLOWING OVER LEVEE: “I’ve gotten reports this morning that there is already water coming over some of the levee systems. In the lower ninth ward, we’ve had one of our pumping stations to stop operating, so we will have significant flooding, it is just a matter of how much.” [NBC’s “Today Show”]

MORNING — BUSH CALLS SECRETARY CHERTOFF TO DISCUSS IMMIGRATION: “I spoke to Mike Chertoff today — he’s the head of the Department of Homeland Security. I knew people would want me to discuss this issue [immigration], so we got us an airplane on — a telephone on Air Force One, so I called him. I said, are you working with the governor? He said, you bet we are.” [White House]

11AM — BUSH VISITS ARIZONA RESORT TO PROMOTE MEDICARE DRUG BENEFIT: “This new bill I signed says, if you’re a senior and you like the way things are today, you’re in good shape, don’t change. But, by the way, there’s a lot of different options for you. And we’re here to talk about what that means to our seniors.” [White House]

LATE MORNING – LEVEE BREACHED: “A large section of the vital 17th Street Canal levee, where it connects to the brand new ‘hurricane proof’ Old Hammond Highway bridge, gave way late Monday morning in Bucktown after Katrina’s fiercest winds were well north.” [Times-Picayune]
The White House is already removing items from their web page to hide things Bush and his staff said and did. Too late, heh. We learned our harsh lesson from 9/11 when reconstructing events, we had to use postings from Salon and Atlantic Monthly and TAP and Democratic Underground to evolve a timeline. It was very infuriating, how much information and miles of pictures were destroyed three weeks after the attacks.

Note that Bush and the people around him were mostly concerned with massaging the Gov. and Senators of Arizona over the issue of immigration even as the dikes disintigrated.

From the NYT:
The Congressional Budget Office reported today that it had told congressional leaders that Hurricane Katrina could reduce employment this year by 400,000 jobs and could slow the economy's expansion by as much as a full percentage point. As a nonpartisan advisor to Congress, the office had previously predicted that the economy would grow by 3.7 percent in 2005 and by 3.4 percent in 2004. The budget office's report came in a nine-page memo delivered Tuesday to Sen. Bill Frist, Republican of Tennessee and the majority leader.

Also on Tuesday, administration officials told Republican lawmakers that relief efforts were running close to $700 million a day, and that the total federal cost could reach as high as $100 billion.
Other reports are $150 billion. I am betting on HALF A TRILLION.
That would be many times the cost of any other natural disaster or even the $21 billion that was allocated for New York City after the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001.
Very little has been built in NYC. Most the money was for clean ups and the million dollar per person dead bribes paid out to insure there wouldn't be 6,000 Karen Breitmeisters in court, demanding to put our rulers on the stand, under oath!
Still, the budget office saidin its report that the start of the recovery of the country's refineries was promising. "Last week, it appeared that larger economic impacts might occur, but despite continued uncertainty, progress in opening refineries and restarting pipelines now makes those larger impacts less likely.
Hooray. Our SUV culture will survive.
It added: "While making specific estimates is fraught with uncertainty, evidence to date suggests that overall economic effects will be significant but not overwhelming."
Thanks to our real real rulers, the Chinese. They are going to collect on this debt in a million unpleasant ways. They own us now. Lock, stock and levee.
But the expenses of Katrina are mounting just as Mr. Bush and Republican leaders are trying to push through spending cuts for programs like Medicaid and student loans, extend about $70 billion in expiring tax cuts, and reduce the federal budget deficit.
They are cutting $70 from the safety net. They are eliminating the ability of the lower classes to go to classes! They are cutting medical care so the poor, the elderly, the infirm will die faster. They are sharpening the knife to slit the poor's throat when along comes Mother Nature and gives them a big hand.

Only this is out of control. Quiet murder in dark alleyways is what they wanted. To have people die off camera, unknown and unwitnessed. Instead, there are too many bodies everywhere and too many witnesses! The rulers are scrambling now.
On Monday, Mr. Frist postponed plans to push for a vote on repealing the estate tax, a move that would benefit the wealthiest 1 percent of households, costing more than $70 billion a year once fully put in effect.

House and Senate leaders are also grappling with their pre-hurricane plan to propose $35 billion in spending cuts over the next five years for entitlement programs like Medicaid, student loans, food stamps and welfare payments.
See? The rats are now covering their tracks, leaving the bones they have been gnawing on. If America is embarrassed about these thousands of unnecessary deaths, then stop the madness.

Arrest these traitors. Outside of McCain, most of the GOP leadership including especially AWOL Bush are people who refused to fight to save democracy and America in the past. Some, like Bush, have an extensive arrest record.

Arrest them all.

MORE BREAKING NEWS! (I will never get this published! Heh!)

From Yahoo news:
The federal government plans to begin doling out debit cards worth $2,000 each to adult victims of Hurricane Katrina, The Associated Press has learned.

Homeland Security Department Secretary Michael Chertoff descibed the plan in a conference call with state officials Wednesday morning. The unprecedented cash card program initially will benefit stranded people who have been moved to major rescue centers such as the Houston Astrodome.

"They are going to start issuing debit cards, $2,000 per adult, today (Wednesday) at the Astrodome," said Kathy Walt, a spokeswoman for Texas Gov. Rick Perry.

The cards could be used to buy food, transportation, gas and other essentials, according to a state official who was on the call and requested anonymity because the program has not been publicly announced.

In Boston, Gov. Mitt Romney said the cards will be offered "to people in shelters as well as people who are not in shelters but who have evacuated the area and need help." He said the hope is the cards will encourage people to leave shelters voluntarily.

It's unclear how much the debit card program will cost the government, but it's likely to run into the hundreds of millions of dollars since hundreds of thousands of people have been displaced.
Ah, as usual, when it looks like the populos will be restive, they offer the bread and circuses! Even as they mull over slitting everyone's economic throats, they will toss this out to the poor so they won't riot. Well, now the rest of America's suffering underbelly will wonder why can't they get something, too?

And I cannot blame them. If we reverse all of Bush's tax cuts and then tax the rich the way they were under Clinton and give the money to the poor, the economy will absolutely boom! The Chinese will love it too since they will be doing much of the selling in this case.

But it makes sense. Want to stop the obvious and inevitable serious recession the high fuel prices and loss of masses of jobs is going to cause?

Just do as I say, Bush. But he never ever listens to me.
