By Elaine Meinel Supkis

I was leafing through the pictures at Yahoo which runs an exellent site. I saw this one and began to cry. As I prepared it for posting, I couldn't stop the tears. For any racists out there bloviating about poor minorities, well.

Take a good look at that photo.

This picture is like great church paintings of the Descent from the Cross. The elderly white woman, probably a total stranger, being tenderly ministered by a group of strangers...if there is a Jesus, and He is watching, you know now where angels come from: great hearted people.

The man standing behind the two people assisting the dying woman is trying to fan her with a board he picked up somewhere. The lady nursing her has the expression all mothers have when tenderly caring for loved ones.

This is America. This is what the flag waves for. This is what we are really all about.

This picture says it better than my feeble words. God bless the people of New Orleans, God save the hurricane victims.
