Quagmires Breed Terrorists And Suck Blood

By Elaine Meinel Supkis

This week, England's military announces they hope to pull out of the Iraqi quagmire by next year and now today, the American military is saying they, too, wish to stagger out of Iraq before bleeding to death. But al Qaeda is now stronger than ever and our military wants to concentrate on where al Qaeda is which is now in....the Iraq quagmire. Round and round we go.

The eight page report by Korb and Katulis calls for the redistribution of American military power, taking troops out of Iraq and relocating thousands to Kuwait, Afghanistan, the Horn of Africa and southeast Asia. All National Guard and Reserve troops would return to the United States under the proposed plan.

The new locations of troops currently deployed in Iraq would better confront a global terrorist threat and give reserve units a much-needed rest, according to the report.

"Crouched in the trenches in Iraq, the Bush administration has lost sight of the broader battlefield in a global war against multiple networks of violent extremists," the report says, specifying Somalia, Sudan and the Philippines as "breeding grounds for terrorists.

Beyond forcing Iraqi politicians to compromise with one another when the country's first permanent postwar government takes control in January 2006, the proposed reductions of American troops would also speed up the U.S.-led training of the Iraqi military, Korb said.

The training of the Iraqi military has gone slowly because there has been a lack of motivation, Korb said, noting that American troops regularly enter combat situations with only basic training.
"Lack of motivation"....Incredible. This lunacy is why we are losing there. The Iraqi Sunni are tremendously motivated, hugely, immensely motivated. They are probably the most motivated people on earth...To fight Americans. Day after day, they fight us. Night after night, they toil to attack us. They can't wait to fight us, they follow us into our strongholds to attack us. They infiltrate all over the Middle East to fight us. They will fight us until we leave.

So we will withdraw to Kuwait? This is like Napoleon reorganizing in Paris after the Russian defeat! Namely, next is Waterloo.

The more Iraqis we murder, the more the quagmire breeds more "terrorists". We can't see this because our rulers are drunk idiots. Our government is run by drunkards who drink and drink and then barf up all over the planet. They also probably pop pills of various sorts in various huge quatities in an effort to appear in public without running around wrapped in sheets, screaming they are Napoleon.

Indeed, the cocked hat and glowering Napoleanisms of our leaders look like a lunatic asylum dayroom.
U.S. military planners, administration officials and critics on both the right and left all seem to have different agendas for troop reductions in Iraq, but each group essentially has the same aim - to have most American troops out of the country by the end of 2007, Dobbins said.
It is too late.

What was the goal? The real goal?

It was to shock and awe Americans by showing us that we can be brutes. So we can kill our way to victory whenever anyone attacks us like they did on 9/11. Of course, the idea that the world's biggest military imperial power was hopelessly helpless on 9/11 isn't talked about much by the warmongers who own the media and the government. Anyone suggesting we try to understand why we were attacked on 9/11 were attacked as traitors or stupid.

Well, now that we have created a massive quagmire breeding endless terrorism, it is rather too late to debate about why people hate us! It is painfully obvious why they hate us.

It is because we are monsters who kill all over the planet in our attempt at stealing countries and stealing resources even as we sell our own nation off to the highest bidder. Soaked in blood and oil, we stagger about the world in a drunken rage, screaming as we demand more money, more oil, more power. And the world is handing this to us in big gobs and we sink to our knees, bellowing like some beast in a Greek myth about hubris.

From the Sunday Herald:
MPs organising the campaign to impeach Tony Blair believe they have enough support to force a highly damaging Commons investigation into the Prime Minister’s pre-war conduct.
A renewed attempt to impeach Blair over claims he misled parlia ment in making his case for war against Iraq, will be made in the Commons within the next two weeks.

The impeachment process effectively stalled last year when just 23 MPs signed a Commons motion. But the scale of the government’s defeat on its anti-terror legislation last week – where 49 Labour MPs rebelled – has galvanised the momentum for proceedings to be invoked.

Organisers say they are expecting 200 cross-party signatures, including those of former government ministers, to force the Commons to set up a Privy Council investigation that would examine in detail the case for impeachment against Blair.

The size of the Labour revolt, allied to unified opposition benches, is said to have changed the climate inside the Commons.
The failed war on terror is pulling Blair down. His inability to protect England, his lies about Iraq and his collusion with the board of directors of Carlyle is finally pulling him down into a quagmire he helped to create. Good riddance to the pathetic poodle!

The lies about WMD are bringing down the right wing government in Italy, too. France is burning because of unrest from the refugees of the quagmires the former French empire left behind. The bigger the empire, the bigger the messes left behind, in general. There are many downsides to imperialism and the biggest is how quagmires far away can very rapidly become raging fires at home! The most spectacular being WWI and WWII.

Pax Americus is causing wars and destruction across all time zones. This massive failure of an empire has consequences not the least being the perception that we are a weak, drunk nation unable to do even the simplest tasks.

And this week, Bush is going to stagger off to Asia to negotiate with the owners of our country's government and infrasystems. Great. I can't wait. Already, the administration is putting out bulletins stressing how this visit is purely social boot licking, not productive at all. Can you imagine Hu or Wen of China making unproductive visits?

It is to laugh. Welcome to the quagmire. Abandon hope, all ye who enter.
