The chorus of stool pigeons are increasing as fast as birds attracted to a little old lady in Central Park. First, Judith, "Queen of fucking Iraq" Miller of the NYT got "permission" from Scooter Libby (ah, such Mafiosi names!) to tell all to the prosecutor about the den of criminals in Airforce Most Wanted.

Then Franklin, the guy who thought Isreal is more important than America, is going to tell all about the Israeli-American Jewish criminal operation called "AIPAC". And then DeLay will be wringing his hands while the prosecutor will wring his neck and he will sing about Abramoff, the *cough* bagman for quite a few criminals.

And all have a tinsey itsy bit to do with Able Danger and 9/11 and the thoroughly illegal war in Iraq. Ah, this is going to be interesting but of course, we know the line up for our rock breaking chain gang, don't we? As illustrated here just a few days ago.

All are looking for the ring leader, Bubble Boy, to pardon them like Bubble Boy's dad, Out of the Loop Bush Sr. Both know the song and dance. Let the press start to tell everyone about this Skull and Bones duggery and of course, suddenly, before the real big guys sing, pardon everyone and then lurk for a few years with the other conspiritors and snipe at the Democrats who will hopefully be running America again, what is left of it, of course.

Which won't be much.

Anyway, if you didn't see the stories, here they are: From the NYT:
"Judy has been unwavering in her commitment to protect the confidentiality of her source," Mr. Sulzberger said. "We are very pleased that she has finally received a direct and uncoerced waiver, both by phone and in writing, releasing her from any claim of confidentiality and enabling her to testify."

For more than a year, Mr. Fitzgerald has sought testimony from Ms. Miller about conversations she had with Mr. Libby. Her willingness to testify now was in part based on personal assurances given by Mr. Libby this month that he had no objection to her discussing their conversations with the grand jury, according to those officials briefed on the case.
How noble of the moll! She ain't gonna yap to the coppers without permission from da boss, see? Dat makes her one hot dame or she'd be gurgling with dem fishies in da Potamac, see? Right.

Man, aren't these people fun!

Then Franklin: From the NYT:
But the unexpected development suggests that Mr. Franklin has agreed to cooperate with prosecutors in exchange for possible leniency and may now become the star witness against the two remaining defendants, Steven J. Rosen and Keith Weissman. Mr. Rosen and Mr. Weissman were dismissed last spring, amid the investigation, as senior officials of the American Israel Public Affairs Committee, or Aipac.

"When you have one member of an alleged conspiracy pleading guilty, there's always the distinct possibility that he will become a government witness," said John N. Nassikas III, a lawyer for Mr. Weissman. "But we're prepared for that."
I suppose he means his clients will flee to their real homes in Israel and stick their tongues out at us? Israel has a history of not shipping back criminals. They are our friends.

And with friends like this, who needs Soviet enemies?

I mean, seriously, no American working in high office should be pledging alligence to anyone but the USA. This should go without saying but alas, it is not so at all. A certain amount of nativist caution is required by all countries in positions of sensitivity and defense. Otherwise, a bunch of terrorists might be let in to attack while everyone is seemingly asleep at the wheel.

Like on 9/11.

Virtually everyone who allowed that attack are still hanging out, trying to keep up the bad work. Gads. Arrest them all! Have them rat on each other! Time to nail the anthrax killer, too.

The GOP is filled with moral twits. These little sparrows twitter all day long about the evils of sex and crime and then blink their eyes in unison when caught committing adultery or breaking the law or being international menaces. They are all Law and Order for others. And Off the Pig when the law stretches its talons towards them.

From Media Matters
BENNETT: Well, I don't think it is either, I don't think it is either, because first of all, there is just too much that you don't know. But I do know that it's true that if you wanted to reduce crime, you could -- if that were your sole purpose, you could abort every black baby in this country, and your crime rate would go down. That would be an impossible, ridiculous, and morally reprehensible thing to do, but your crime rate would go down. So these far-out, these far-reaching, extensive extrapolations are, I think, tricky.
The Final Solution is never far from the minds of these criminals. Like the Nazis, their role models, the right wing just can't help but act or talk like unreformed Nazis.

There are many people on the web who shout at anyone who calls right wing Nazis "Nazis" but they are exactly that. Homegrown cornpone Nazis.

And Bennett is a Nazi Nazi for not only is he right wing and lusts to change the world to suit his fat ass, he is a hypocrite like them all and wants us to conform while he contorts.

Arrest this man. Just arrest him. We will have to build larger prisons for this crew. Arrest them all. Hehe.

Blair trails after his master, Bush, and learns how to run things...which is why England is sliding into a bigger and bigger mess, all they need is some huge hurricane to hit London and destroy it. Anyway, impressed at how Bush runs his bubble, babble boy Blair tries his hand at police state repression.

From Associated Press;
rime Minister Tony Blair apologized Thursday to an 82-year-old activist ejected from the governing Labour Party's conference for heckling a Cabinet minister over the Iraq war — an issue that overshadowed the end of the annual convention.

The treatment of Walter Wolfgang, who was then questioned by police under anti-terrorism powers, angered delegates and sparked accusations that the government is abusing freedom of speech.

"We are really, really sorry. It shouldn't have happened," said Blair, grilled on a round of television and radio interviews Thursday about the incident. He blamed overzealous volunteer stewards who have no training.
Hahaha. Like Hitler, Bush and Blair are surrounded by so many guards that always make mistakes! Kicking and punching, arresting and harassing anyone who even dimly objects to their joint chickenparade is always due to out of control creeps. I am certain all Mafia bosses say the same. "Judge, I didn't want him snuffed, it was all due to excessive zeal."

Well, if "out of control" control freaks are that, then...arrest them! Yeah.

Of course, the out of control control freaks are Blair and Bush. Warmonger criminal, John Reid said, "This isn't how we do business in here," when questioned. Oh, the goons were supposed to beat the MP up, too? Pray tell, how is business with you?
His conference accreditation was confiscated, as was the pass of another delegate, Steve Forrest, who tried to intervene on his behalf. When Wolfgang tried to re-enter the conference center, he was stopped by police using powers under the Terrorism Act — sweeping legislation passed by Blair's government in 2000.
We all know who the real terrorists are here: bloggers, letter writers, Cindy Sheehan, nosey reporters who have to be shot, conspiracy buffs, voters, heck, even Mrs. Blair!

They terrify our rulers. I hope we can continue to scare these panty waisted poodles.

As Gregor SamsaTexan DeLay awoke one morning from uneasy dreams he found himself transformed in his bed into a gigantic insect. He was lying on his hard, as it were armor-plated, back and when he lifted his head a little he could see his domelike brown belly divided into stiff arched segments on top of which the bed quilt could hardly stay in place and was about to slide off completely. His numerous legs, which were pitifully thin compared to the rest of his bulk, waved helplessly before his eyes.
What has happened to me? he thought. It was no dream. His room, a regular human bedroom, only rather too small, lay quiet within its four familiar walls. Above the table on which a collection of cloth samplesillicit funds and bribes were unpacked and spread out—Samsa was a traveling salesmancorrupt Repubican—hung the picture which he had recently cut out of an illustrated magazine and put into a pretty gilt frame. It showed a lady, with a fur hat on and a fur stole, sitting upright and holding out to the spectator a huge fur muff into which the whole of her forearm had vanished!Bush and he and all his pals, laughing while signing the pork laden energy bill.

To see a movie of this event, click here:Random House's Kafka illustrated books.

Here are the ABC interviews:
RONNIE EARLE: The indictment describes a scheme whereby corporate money which cannot be given to candidates in Texas was sent to the Republican National Committee where it was exchanged for money raised from individuals.

MICHAEL ROWLAND: The charges carry a penalty of up two years’ jail.

TOM DELAY: Just another day at the office.

MICHAEL ROWLAND: Tom DeLay insists he's done nothing wrong and says the charges are a form of political retribution by the Democrat District Attorney.

TOM DELAY: This is one of the weakest most baseless indictments in American history. It's a sham, and Mr Earle knows it.
And what do I think of all this?

BWAHAHAHA. Watergate was chump change compared to what these traitors and criminals have been doing. Next: war crime trials, right? Right!

Chins up, everyone! Someone upstairs has bestirred themselves on our behalf.

House Majority Leader Tom Delay Indicted
Texas v. Colyandro, et al.

U.S. House Majority Leader Tom Delay is indicted by a Texas grand jury on criminal conspiracy charges relating to a campaign finance probe.

(September 28, 2005)
Here are the official documents. DeLay is to go on trial. He has to resign not only as whip of the House but from the House entirely. Period. He is toast. He is burned toast. Like all Mafia style bosses, the GOP leadership are all criminals, Bush is a multi-arrested criminal, they will all go down on technicalities and not mass/serial murder, financial criminal actions and treason.

Especially treason. This is the "hang them by the neck" type treason. They not only allowed foreign nationals to attack us, they conspired to stampede us into an illegal war by lying and cheating and then sold us to the communist Chinese to pay for not only the war but tax cuts for their buddies! If this isn't all treason, I don't know what it is. Spying on America? Heck, the entire neo-con network works for foreign governments and extra-legal organizations that don't serve America!

Bankrupting America deliberately as well as deliberately doing nothing when disaster strikes: this is a crime. We have enough evidence that it wasn't mere bungling, after all, the ring leader himself, after being told of all the dead recently said, "What went wrong? I think everying is going great."

These criminals and traitors have handed the keys to our military, our diplomatic corps, our banks, our very homes into the hands of potential enemies and rivals.

Right now, the criminals who are co-conspiring with this gang are fighting over the money we are going to shower upon New Orleans and the Gulf. Everyone ones their piece of this pie and all are refusing to pay federal taxes and indeed, conspire to prevent us from making them pay taxes on the money they are making off of us which is why we are going bankrupt rapidly.

All these people, all the corporate entities that pay money into and support the criminal gang destroying America are traitors. Period. All of them that are outsourcing jobs, sending military orders to other nations are traitors. They are all driving us into hock with foreign powers and this is what traitors do. This isn't all accidental, they actively worked to pass laws and bills that would produce this result. These same traitors tried to impeach Clinton over the silliest blow job on earth all because he didn't co-conspire with them to outsource our jobs, ship our infrastructure to China and run up huge bills and make them all pay taxes fairly.

So let's enjoy the come-uppance of this gang but remember, last time we cleaned house completely was during the Great Depression.

This isn't going to be a joy ride. Alas.

By Elaine Meinel Supkis

From Associated Press:
An angry Michael Brown blamed the Louisiana governor, the New Orleans mayor and even the Bush White House that appointed him for the dismal response to Hurricane Katrina in a fiery appearance Tuesday before Congress. In response, lawmakers alternately lambasted and mocked the former FEMA director.
At several points, Brown turned red in the face and slapped the table in front of him.

"So I guess you want me to be the superhero, to step in there and take everyone out of New Orleans," Brown said.

"What I wanted you to do is do your job and coordinate," Shays retorted.
Nothing nastier than a spoiled frat rat trapped by responsibilities. I have had to deal with such in college. On the very last day of lab, they show up, "Can I do the semester's worth of lab today?" they plead.

"Sorry, you failed," I say, shaking my head. "Better luck next semester." Once and while, one goes home and calls mommy to get her to hassle the dean. Never worked with my boss.

Bush wants to keep Brownie happy. After all, he has helped kill more people than Laura.

&spades From the Washington Post:
After weeks of prodding by Republican lawmakers and the American Red Cross, the Federal Emergency Management Agency said yesterday that it will use taxpayer money to reimburse churches and other religious organizations that have opened their doors to provide shelter, food and supplies to survivors of hurricanes Katrina and Rita.

FEMA officials said it would mark the first time that the government has made large-scale payments to religious groups for helping to cope with a domestic natural disaster.
Well, I'll be goddamned. Excuse me, but the entire crap about shrinking the social safety net was because the damned churches would fill the gaps and volunteers and charity would take care of things!

And now they are trying to steal taxpayer money! The GOP runs America and it is running us into the ground and is funnelling tons of money into the voracious maw of the religious bigots who do a half baked job of things since they are all amateurs.

Good grief. But it doesn't end with that end run around the Constitution separating church and state!

&spades From Journal Sentinel Online:
The estimated $47 million in damage wrought by tornadoes in southern and west-central Wisconsin last month doesn't warrant federal disaster assistance, the Federal Emergency Management Agency declared Friday.

In its decision to deny Gov. Jim Doyle's request for a disaster declaration for counties struck by the Aug. 18 tornadoes, the agency said, the damage "was not of such severity and magnitude as to be beyond the capabilities of the state and affected local governments."

"Furthermore, we have determined that supplemental federal assistance is not necessary," said a letter to Doyle from R. David Paulison, acting undersecretary for emergency preparedness and response.

Reaction to the decision - which FEMA announced while grappling with the Gulf Coast destruction from Hurricane Katrina and the emergency preparation for Hurricane Rita - ranged from dismay to disappointment to resignation.
So, we will have to fix the damn south over and over again as they build crappy, cheap, lousy designed junk but when winds in excess of 250mph hits the Midwest and Northeast states, we have to fix everything ourselves? And on top of that, pay the vast majority of taxes?

Want to see what a real nasty thing can happen if we all tell our fellow Americans to go to hell?

This la-de-dah attitude towards our states or should I say, "blue" states, is pissing me off. If the south wants help, they damn well better extend it to us, too. Having a lopsided government that pours tons of money into only southern states will be stinky beyond words.

The southern coalition better change their tune, fast. At this point, I feel we shouldn't pay ANY Federal taxes if the money is only for right wing southerners. No way. Split our country in two. Let them sink or swim.
Dane County Executive Kathleen Falk said she was especially disappointed at FEMA's decision in light of the state's effort to help victims of Hurricane Katrina.

"We certainly have been doing our part on every level to help those in Southern states," Falk said. "But we would have hoped the federal government would have been helpful here in Wisconsin with the severe damages we've suffered."

In a statement, U.S. Rep. Tammy Baldwin (D-Wis.), whose district includes the Stoughton area, said the decision was another example of the Bush administration "failing to respond to the needs of Americans following a disaster."
See how polite we are in public?

I will never ever forget a Democratic political candiate in Texas literally screaming at me that "No one talks about 'the nation' in Texas during an election!" Well, guess what?

Eventually, no one will call this joint "a nation". Thanks a billion, dudes.

Bush and his gang, the GOP, move around like in a dream. Or like a spaceship caught in the gravity pool of a black hole. Circling ever lower, knowing what will happen next, unable to make the slightest move to reverse direction, all of them mindlessly spiralling downwards, taking everyone and everything with them. Americans, lulled by Greenspan and the media outlets, sit in their seats, watching this disaster slowly unfold, unable to comprehend the price we will all pay for ignoring the realities of living within one's financial and ecological means.

From Associated Press:
The Senate would give President Bush $50 billion more for wars in Iraq and Afghanistan as part of a $440 billion defense spending measure a panel approved Monday

Reflecting a post-Hurricane Katrina debate about the role of the military in domestic affairs, the bill also will require that the National Guard provide a report on how Guard units in neighboring states can be used to assist those affected by natural disasters.

Sen. Ted Stevens (news, bio, voting record), R-Alaska, the chairman of the defense appropriations subcommittee, said lawmakers and staff members were still working on the language, which will be added when the full Appropriations Committee takes up the measure.
Even as we spend like fiends on our little wars that are spiralling into utter defeat, we can't protect America. The only reason hurricane Rita killed only dozens instead of thousands is due only and entirely to the hurricane slipping sideways into a relatively uninhabited region. Yesterday, Louisiana put the price on fixing itself from both hurricanes at $250 billion dollars. As I detailed here on the blog, the stockmarket is happy because this means tons of money will be spent and it will appear like magic again and we will all see investors become filthy rich off of this huge debt addition.

We probably will cross the $8 TRILLION debt thresh hold today. The money ticker is running at light speed now, the spending at its most ridiculous. Here is Greenspan talking like he has a blood clot in the brain:From the Herald Sun:
THOUGH mortgage debt was rising, most Americans have built up so much equity in their homes that they could weather a house price drop without serious harm, US Federal Reserve Chairman Alan Greenspan said overnight.

"The vast majority of homeowners have a sizable equity cushion with which to absorb a potential decline in house prices," Mr Greenspan told the American Bankers Association.

The US Fed chief's remarks on house prices were more reassuring than a month ago, when Mr Greenspan told a seminar in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, the housing boom would "inevitably" cool and that there might be price declines.
He says that most people are less than 90% in debt on their mortgages and home loans...of course, this pig of a man won't talk about credit card debt, too! Like his nonstop lying about our budget deficits ever since his fellow Skull and Bones conspiritor took over America, note that Kerry, too, part of this conspiracy, never says a peep about all this!--well, the Devil is Death and debt is one of the four horsemen or aught to be.

I have seen housing prices fall here in America. Sometimes rapidly, over 30%. Few Americans own their homes outright, I am one of them. This means, when everyone goes off that old cliff, not only will I not lose my home, I will have equity when I need it in the future. Most people are planning on no future, just wishful dreaming.
Overall, Congress already has given the president about $350 billion for combat and reconstruction in Iraq and Afghanistan and fighting terrorism worldwide since the attacks of Sept. 11, 2001, according to the Congressional Research Service, which writes reports for lawmakers. That total includes $82 billion that lawmakers approved in May.
$350+ billion flushed down several toilets! Whew. Homeland Security is a joke. Thousands have died while they fiddled in DC. $350 billion spent on futile wars that made us stark raving mad, brought zero security for al Qaeda strikes at will wherever they desire. They don't hit everywhere at once because the plan that Bin Laden has devised is to be a gadfly and nip at us making us charge about, maddened, spending money like fiends until we go bankrupt.

Americans forget, Bin Laden learned his successful tactics fighting the Soviet Union. He, unlike Americans, knows the Soviets overextended themselves and turned hostile on Muslims after courting them in the Middle East, dividing the community, oppressing many Muslims while bribing/helping others. He and his cohort with money from the CIA worked on bleeding Russia to death while spreading revolutionary dogma. The Soviets went bankrupt and now we filled the exact same spaces that bankrupted the Russians and we are going bankrupt.

Today, we happily announce we killed the number 2 man in al Qaeda. Well, pat ourselves on the back, usually it is Mr. #3. Over and over. A dozen #3s will now be a dozen #2s! Victory!
Excluding war money, the Senate bill totals $390 billion — about $7 billion less than the $397 billion the president had requested for the Defense Department. The House bill totals $364 billion, but it is not directly comparable to the Senate version because some items funded in the Senate defense bill were paid for in non-defense bills in the House.
We are doomed.
From Xinhuanet:

China on Tuesday launched a military exercise code-named "North Sword 2005" in a training base in the northern Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region.

Forty foreign military officers from 24 countries were invited to observe the exercise at the Zhurihe training base, a tactical drill base in Inner Mongolia.

The exercise was an important multilateral military exchange activity with the presence of the largest number of foreign observers since the founding of New China in 1949, said a Chinese defense official.

The exercise demonstrates the sincere wish of the Chinese army to develop friendly cooperation with foreign armies, said Jia Xiaoning, deputy director of the Chinese Defense Ministry's Foreign Affairs Office.

It will also help enhance mutual trust and understanding, deepen friendship and cooperation, and promote international and regional security cooperation, Jia said.

Jia said the exercise was aimed at fully displaying the new concept of security based on "mutual trust and benefit, equality and cooperation."
China has no where near the military machine we have. They are also not bogged down in futile wars, either. And most importantly, they run their government and their people are both not in hock up to the eyebrows.

Why are we going bankrupt? Aside from cronyism, warlordism and privatization so that simple things that took a tiny bite out of the Pentagon's budget have swollen into huge monsters such as feeding the army. No more KP duty. It is all catered now, at tremendous expense, all the minor items in the budget are now major items. So, to pay for the usual activities, more and more money has to be spent which is why the budget has skyrocketted while the actual function of the military, its abilty to do anything useful, shrinks so rapidly, thousands of Americans are dying thanks to this.

From the Independent:
US forces have fired so many bullets in Iraq and Afghanistan - an estimated 250,000 for every insurgent killed - that American ammunition-makers cannot keep up with demand. As a result the US is having to import supplies from Israel.

A government report says that US forces are now using 1.8 billion rounds of small-arms ammunition a year. The total has more than doubled in five years, largely as a result of the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, as well as changes in military doctrine.

"The Department of Defense's increased requirements for small- and medium-calibre ammunitions have largely been driven by increased weapons training requirements, dictated by the army's transformation to a more self-sustaining and lethal force - which was accelerated after the attacks of 11 September, 2001 - and by the deployment of forces to conduct recent US military actions in Afghanistan and Iraq," said the report by the General Accounting Office (GAO).
We went from in the green during Nam into a debt spiral for the same reason. Dropping more bombs in that war than much of WWII, we bombed our own economy. The false wealth of the military/industrial complex made us feel good...until the bill was presented.
"If they don't do body counts, how can I? But using these figures it works out at around 300,000 bullets per insurgent. Let's round that down to 250,000 so that we are underestimating."
These bullets didn't just kill "insurgents", they killed women and children and innocent victims. 100,000 most likely. We are literally spraying Iraq with bombs and bullets hoping we will "win". But the goal is to win hearts and minds and we have no heart and have lost our minds.

And the headline of this story? Gads.
US forced to import bullets from Israel as troops use 250,000 for every rebel killed
This is a headline no American will ever see. Just like there is never mention that our Homeland Security chief is a citizen of Israel and secondarily, a citizen of America. As we go bankrupt, Israel feeds off of us. America's military/industrial complex can't make BULLETS? What? Eh? Do I hear right? We have to outsource this work? Huh? Like, hello! Is anybody home?

Of course, the neo-cons want to funnel as much military dollars to their homeland as possible and it ain't America. Since virtually no one in America is aware of this farce, we sit here, thinking, well, at least the money we are recklessly spending is making American jobs!

Here is the logo of one Israeli company that is in cahoots with the neo cons. They "train" Americans to fight Muslims. Note the vast success of our joint venture. Not.

Note the logo. Typical of neo cons, they know they are pure evil. Black background. An American eagle, in reverse colors so The white head and tail feathers are black, for example. They let us know this is a widdershins act by putting the black tail within the white triangle so you know this is not due to the eagle overflowing the white triangle, it is reversal at work.

The bat/demon hiding behind this American eagle? Hahaha. And people think we shouldn't worry about black magic people who have infested the Skull and Bones government of the New World Order? Take a good look. Is this a sane logo for a defense company?

I can't click and drag the long list of American clients. All are involved in defending America. But none are defending us. They are being trained by Israelis connected with the large group of dual citizens who have taken over the Pentagon and are in cahoots with Bush...who plans to send them off the cliff at the right moment, tagging them as traitors. The Nazi dream come true. Lured by money, conspiring with people whose family has a history of supporting Hitler for crying out loud, the neo cons who are Jewish have gotten themselves into a bear trap they can't get out of. Dependent on America for their wealth, needing to shift as many American jobs to their homeland as possible, conspiring with the owners of the media to do this, all is exactly what the right wingers who are anti Jewish desire.

They will shove Jewish Americans in front of the freight train if we go bankrupt and note, the true conspiritors here, the right wing NEO NAZIS are working hard to to exactly that: overspend like fiends in the open, then blame the Jews.

Nearly 90% of the world's savings is pouring into the USA to allow us to eat candy and piss beer. This isn't because America is a great investment, it isn't at all.

It is a bear trap. We, like the Israelis, are walking into it and when it snaps on us, we will be chained to a tree, bellowing. And we can't save ourselves at that point.

By Elaine Meinel Supkis

Peru just had a big earthquake last night, 7.5, at 84 km deep. As usual before a great quake, the rattling of the earth was still for 24 hours. It is like it takes a deep breath and then lets go with a loud yell.

A few villagers died when their houses collapsed but it was 450 miles from any large population centers so the damage was slight and the Andes grew a tad taller. The interesting thing here is, this is another warning sign for the West Coast. I learned yesterday that Los Angeles doesn't have even vague evacuation/emergency plans in the case of a great quake. As I have pointed out, my grandfather for many years said that the danger to LA is the precious water supply being cut off if the San Andreas which bisects all water delivery systems, jerks north violently.

His favorite saying was, "LA is one toilet tank away from dying of thirst." Now we sell water in stores but when there is no water for anything, evacuating the populace would be crucial and like all the coastal cities, a nightmare since everyone has to move in one direction: inland and in LA's case, a San Andreas event will do what no hurricane does before it hits: cut the highways. If key overpasses fail, this means little to no traffic can pass. Unlike the Great Quake in San Francisco, people walking away from the ruined city and being picked up at the edges and removed, in LA's case, everyone will get into their cars and take off creating immense havoc and snarling all possible movements. Houston illustrated this well. If roads are broken around a city as any great earthquake will inevitably do, getting in water and fuel becomes nearly impossible except by sea and any disruptions to the sea port will be a problem, worse, if there is a dual quake, and this is quite possible, and all the auxillary fault lines intersecting the San Andreas are sufficiently disturbed a la Indonesia with 2000 quakes this year, then driving from the port to any of the zillion dense neighborhoods to deliver food, water and aid will be a nightmare. We don't have enough ships and trucks and boots on the ground to service 15 million people.

Japan doesn't have nearly so bad a problem simply because the water delivery systems are much shorter and more local and don't cross a major fault line and also they have far fewer cars per capita to clog the roads and as we see in Houston, the cars a much smaller, the hulking monsters we favor are a menace to any evacuation. And more: the Japanese are resigned to dying in Kami-inspired events. From Godzilla/America annihilating Tokyo in fire and shaking, that city is destroyed and reborn regularily. The culture has this deeply embedded in the psyche of the Japanese people and it pervades their culture on many levels. Our destruction movies and stories usually if not always features humans successfully saving the city or each other or whatever from destruction but theirs is, even in little children's cartoons, all about possible annihilation of not only Tokyo but all living things! One anime being watched this season in Japan has the whole world but for the highest mountains under water and the subs dart in and out of the ruins of Tokyo and Paris and NYC.

Imagining destruction helps one prepare for it. Our defense people who get a fortune to do this, do all sorts of studies and games to deal with possible scenarios. Indeed, on 9/11/1, they were conducting such an exercise imagining that jets were being hijacked and used to attack...when it happened. Of course, that is a whole different kettle of destructive fishes! We aren't supposed to think about this and the 9/11 Commission decided to glide over it, too. Don't look back, as Jimmy Carter said recently.

Disruption of services multiplies problems the larger the community. My town of Berlin, NY can empty out in minutes and we can go 50 miles in less than an hour. But large conglamorations are a different matter. Unwieldy cities in geographically restricted areas are a particular problem. LA is a fine example, hemmed in by high mountains, deep ocean, a trap. Beyond the city itself are a zillion suburbs that tangle it up further. NYC is a classic cul de sac that is literally impossible to evacuate. It is a series of islands surrounded by a dense community, the Trisate region holds many millions of people, it is the densest population in America. Manhattan has two tunnels and one bridge to New Jersey and one two to the Bronx which is on the continent. This week, the mayor said they will use public transportation to move everyone out in an emergency.

Hahaha. On a normal day, using the tunnels and bridges into NYC is a slow crawl. Years ago, when they closed three bridges accidentally simultaneously for road repairs one day, the traffic snarl stopped all vehicles in much of Manhattan and west Brooklyn extending for miles. I remember because nothing was moving in my neighborhood two miles from the Brooklyn Bridge.

Public transportation out of the city is only planes, buses using the two tunnels and George Washington Bridge and Amtrak. That's it. And someone is planning to move a million Manhattanites with these frail few transportation items? And Brooklyn. The only ways west to the continent are the Brooklyn, Manhattan and Verrazzano bridges and one tunnel...into Manhattan. So, half of Brooklyn will head into..Manhattan! Another million+. Queens has to pour into Manhattan or Conneticutt via two bridges. Then there is all of Long Island that has to use the same bridges. All this is another 3+ million people. Unimaginable.

This is why the nuclear reactor was closed down. Officially, there is no possible evacuation plan for New York City and Long Isand. The Long Island Expressway is called the world's biggest parking lot...on normal days.

Luckily, the chances of earthquakes in NYC is minimal. But SF and LA in California, inevitable. And preparing for the inevitable is vital, not optional. Of course, one can take the position that the people are doomed there and simply watch it unfold. Maybe this is what we all want to do, deep inside. Be entertained.

Take a look at these headline stories: From CNN:
Towns near where Hurricane Rita made landfall have had all but a handful of buildings destroyed, including nearly all homes in Cameron, Holly Beach and Creole, officials said Sunday.

Though less destructive than Hurricane Katrina, Rita's extensive damage became evident a day after the storm struck near near the Texas-Louisiana border with 120 mph winds.

Along the state line, Louisiana's Cameron Parish was under as much as 15 feet of water, and thousands of homes were destroyed, said Freddie Richard, the head of emergency preparedness for the community of 10,000 residents. (See video of hard-hit area in Rita's aftermath -- 2:29)

About 45 miles south of nearby Lake Charles, every home was destroyed in the town of Holly Beach, Richard told CNN.

In the parish seat of Cameron, 90 percent of homes were destroyed, he said.

In Creole, 70 percent of residences were destroyed, with little more than the courthouse and an elementary school still standing, according to Richard. (City-by-city impact)

Coast Guard Vice Adm. Thad Allen told CNN that no deaths had been reported in Louisiana, and Texas Gov. Rick Perry reported no storm-related deaths in his state.

But a Rita-spawned tornado killed one person in Mississippi, and 24 people died Friday when a bus carrying evacuated nursing home residents caught fire and was riddled by explosions on Interstate 45 south of Dallas.
This morning, everyone was crowing about how there were no deaths. Of course, no one pointed out that with many houses missing or underwater, there is no way of knowing if anyone died and no way of accounting for everyone and so it is much too early to tell. Just like while the hurricane was raging, the rulers used the media to lie about everything, pretending it was all OK. Well.

It wasn't worse only because the hurricane hit a very empty part of the region but what it did hit, it utterly destroyed.

Then comes this story! From Yahoo:
Rita, No Katrina, May Boost U.S. Stocks

To say Hurricane Rita wasn't "that bad" obviously minimizes the loss of life and immense damage suffered along the Texas and Louisiana coasts. But from the stock market's point of view, Rita was no Katrina. And that may bode well this week for Wall Street.

That's not to say that all is well and Wall Street is ready to surge forward. The devastation wrought by Katrina and, to a lesser extent, Rita will hurt the economy in the months ahead. There's the concern that high gasoline and heating oil prices will weigh heavily on consumers, which could impact overall spending as the holidays approach.

There's also the concern that high energy prices will pressure businesses to pass along their costs to consumers, sparking inflation.

However, these are long-term concerns. As long as the news from Texas and Louisiana stays relatively positive by Wall Street's standards, the week could start off well. Oil prices dropped significantly in rare electronic trading on Sunday, and as more refineries restart, stocks are likely to move higher.

Short-term, however, could mean a few days, at most. Economic data out this week will gauge consumers' optimism, or lack thereof, after dealing with nearly a month of $3-per-gallon gasoline. And earnings season is a few weeks away, and will give investors a look at how the hurricanes and resulting jump in energy prices hit corporate America.
Major but not catastrophic destruction! Whoohoo. Party, dudes!

The reason stocks will go up is because all the vultures there expect a tidalwave of Chinese yuan to flood into America and give us more fun times.

From CNN:
Heavy downpours sent rivers over their embankments, killing at least 56 people and forcing the evacuation of thousands in southern India, officials said Wednesday.

Helicopters plucked people from danger in the worst hit areas of Andhra Pradesh state and delivered thousands of tons of food, medicine and blankets to camps for the displaced. Boats rescued hundreds of others.
Guess how many Americans will notice this?

Once again, the collapse of systems, the destruction of property and the shattering of several million lives is...good for business! Isn't that loverly? Just swell. Like, they make money on war, they make money when things fall apart so when they run things we get wars and things falling apart. Great.

On Saturday, a very massive anti war, anti Bush demonstration happened, peacefully. The ruling elite didn't dare totally ignore it for we snapped their heads off, online, last time and forced them to revise their lies a tad. So this time, they gingerly handled it especially since most Americans are both anti war and anti Bush at this point. This irritates them but the exercise to see exactly how unpopular a selected ruler can be while still keeping the population at bay, continues.

Bush's bubble isn't for him. It is a test of the new security system that will be used to protect our future despots. The fact that Americans cheerfully submitted to being registered and signing loyalty aggreements to the "President" in order to see him, the White House closed to all Americans except invited visitors, the secret fireworks display on 9/9/1 that Bush put on for the Mexican President without telling a single American citizen that it was going to happen, the two men laughing on the balcony, hahaha, funny, that. Waking up all of DC with a private show.

The Pentagon's recent "Walk for Freedom" was a fascist parade under armed guards with uniform shirts, sign up sheets, ID checks, all sorts of unamerican things designed to control and manipulate people.

The last three elections ticked off our ruling junta. They spent a billion dollars, manipulating voting machines, keeping out voters, running ads on TV, all sorts of expenses. This is too costly. It is pissing them all off. They want peace and quiet. The voting manipulations are now being catalogued, parsed, traced and litigated. Despite buying off most of the Democratic Party leadership, the voters themselves are getting very angry and very restive.

At Home Depot, I was with a customer, helping him buy materials when we chatted with a white, middle class man. He introduced the topic of Bush and then layed into him, filled with fury. Wow. Bush is losing his base, badly.

But that doesn't matter because Bush has someone holding his hand. A very powerful group of people, in fact, none of whome we control or have any say over. Bush's deliberate tax cuts ran our government into the ground. We now owe $8,000,000,000,000. This is amazing. The stock market will jump because they expect the financiers from dictatorships overseas to give generously yet again, but of course, the pay off is, they and our own rulers will clamp down hard on us all, making us pay punishing taxes, high energy costs, little or no medical care and privatization of all services which effectively will end them in most places.

From Atlanta:
Gov. Sonny Perdue asked Georgians late Friday to remain calm as a hurricane again threatened to disrupt the state's gasoline supply. It didn't work.

Within minutes of his canceling school for two days next week and asking Georgians to conserve fuel in anticipation of a repeat of the Hurricane Katrina gas crunch, motorists began queuing up at gas stations, and anxious parents wondered what to do with their children on Monday and Tuesday.

Cars were 10 deep Friday afternoon at a Sam's Club in Marietta, where regular unleaded gasoline was sold out by 5 p.m. Gas manager Steve Stephens predicted that the rest would be gone within hours.

Retired U.S. Army Col. Wilburn See, 70, of east Cobb County spent about $150 to fill up his Cadillac Escalade and his wife's sedan.

"They told us they were going to stop the buses, so I figured I'd better come on and get some gas," See said. "We're worried about a shortage."
As usual, panic sets in and everyone rushes to hoard. To prevent price hikes and hoarding, governments in the past have imposed rationing and restrictions. Our present government won't do this because they fear the backlash and besides, the oil barons running America love this! Money is gushing out of the ground, as far as they are concerned. Which takes us back to Iraq.

The neo cons and the Bush supporters have told us over and over, Iraq is the crucible for the New World Order. Bush Sr. crowed about the New World Order in his speech at 9/11/91 (super magic number date for him!) when fighting Iraq was the big thing that month. Many of us on the net have a very good idea what this "New World Order" will mean. It is the military occupation of America.

We hate democracies. The NYT and WP attack Chavez nonstop because he not only gets elected in carefully supervised elections, he is popular! And he is a smarty pants. And he evaded a coup! Bad, oh so bad! Haiti, on the other hand, we got rid of the elected President in a coup and cut him off from all help. Now Haiti is a total mess but we are happy with it. The list of democracies we kill is long and bloody. But the prize is here in America. Slaying our own democracy is the Holy Grail for the rich and powerful. They can't wait. They are sick and tired of pandering to voters. They want to have their cake and starve us in peace and quiet.

This is why they work hand in glove with China. Here is the NYT talking about President Hu. Total insanity. From the NYT:

Three years after becoming China's top leader, Hu Jintao has solidified his grip on power and intimidated critics inside and outside the Communist Party with the help of the man once seen as his most potent rival.

Goh Chai Hin/Agence France-Presse
President Hu Jintao of China, center, and Vice President Zeng Qinghong at a conference in Beijing in March. They have sought a "smokeless war" against "liberal elements" that they have said were backed by America.
Mr. Hu, China's president and Communist Party chief, and Zeng Qinghong, vice president and the man in charge of the party's organizational affairs, have tackled the most delicate domestic and foreign policy issues as a team, governing as hard-liners with a deft political touch, former Chinese officials and scholars with leadership connections said.

Their bond is a surprise because Mr. Zeng was the longtime right-hand man of the previous No. 1 leader, Jiang Zemin. A skillful backroom political operator considered to have strong military ties, Mr. Zeng was long viewed as the only person capable of challenging Mr. Hu for power.

Instead, Mr. Zeng and Mr. Hu joined forces last year to push Mr. Jiang to retire and to give up his position as leader of China's military, party insiders said. That cleared the way for Mr. Hu to become military chief and weakened the formidable political network Mr. Jiang had constructed in his 13 years at the helm.

Their alliance has shored up the Communist Party as it faces enormous stresses, including simmering social unrest and an uphill struggle to curtail corruption. They have quieted talk of serious factional splits and paved the way for Mr. Hu to impose his orthodox, repressive stamp on Chinese politics.

Mr. Hu and Mr. Zeng made back-to-back addresses at a secretive party conclave in May to promote a "smokeless war" against "liberal elements" in society that they contended were supported by the United States, said people who said they had been told about the speeches. They have also clamped down on nongovernmental organizations, tightened media controls and forced all of the 70 million Communist Party members to submit self-criticisms as an act of ritualistic submission to their authority.
President Hu is a superb diplomat. Don't expect any peeps about that in this article. Not only that, he and his upper group who run China are very, very, very cozy with the Bush family who they own, and our entire corporate elite as well as media moguls. All in bed together, wining and dining and whatever else they do at night. Grrr.

Hu isn't afraid of the American government. He is a part owner of it! He is worried about you and me. Especially me. He wants to shut us up. He wants to shut up our mirror images in China. He wants to control the internet. Duh. So do our rulers who fret about the same liberal sphere and work day and night to demonize and antagonize liberals on line (we exist no where else at this point except for a few nonprofit radio stations here and there!). The "smokeless war against liberals" in China is a full flaming conflagration here in America! Several years ago, I was on a right wing radio station. I was allowed to speak for exactly three minutes before the smoking blazing idiot running the show cut my mike and spent twenty minutes calling me names and mocking me and pretending I ran away.

This happens to all liberals who show some sense and presence of mind. This is what America has become. The NYT will print "liberal" stuff but only if they carry equally trashy, stupid commentary or clueless analysis like this dumb story which is useless to read. It is all diversion to keep semi-liberal readers petted, "Oh, those bad Chinese rulers are so mean, they aren't like...oh, never mind, we won't talk about the police state of America, we didn't mention how Frist was denied entry for political reasons nor will we speculate as to why the antiwar train was stopped by Amtrak for several"

And so it goes. Will we have an election in 2008? I am on pins and needles.

Failure can lead to success. Bush "won the trifecta" when he let our economy slide into a hole, let attackers succeed in attacking our cities and the Pentagon and then had a war. Each time he recited this joke, he and his followers would laugh sardonically just like when he and the National Press Corps laughed like hyenias when he did his, "No WMD here!" jokes. Haha.

Now he has graduated into ever greater trifectual victories. Each one, characterized by his inability to lead or do anything sane, has not only been fully supported by the military but indeed, they work hand in hand, killing off the CIA and FEMA and any other competing entity including destroying utterly the National Guard and then shipping them off to other nations, to erode to nothingness.

Why is this happening?

Well, my belief is, this is all quite deliberate. Like on 9/11, when the WTC buildings disintigrated, this surpized everyone. It wasn't planned, the plan was for general chaos and fear, not total destruction. Ditto the Pentagon attacks which, fortunately for the military, ended up tagging the most reinforced, least occupied side of the complex.

With hurricane Katrina, they didn't expect so many dead or screaming survivors. So they had to scramble to look as if they cared, as if they wanted to save people. Too many=someone arresting these goons. Click here for a video by the Legendary K.O. and Black Lantern.

All the goofy politicians who are the supporting cast of this show, "You're Fucked," have to cover their slime trails fast. The media is helping now, minimizing the situation, soothing furrowed brows. From Nedra Pickler of Associated Press:
"The nightmare that we all have is that, God forbid, there's a terrorist attack of some kind on a major American city that requires evacuation without warning," said Sen. Joe Lieberman, D-Conn.

"We need to be better prepared," Lieberman, the top Democrat on the Senate Homeland Security Committee, said on CNN's "Late Edition."

President Bush has ordered the Homeland Security Department to review disaster plans for every major metropolitan area. Experts say the slow pace of evacuations in Houston and New Orleans show the need for changes to get people out of harm's way in a more urgent emergency.

"You have to accept the possibility that a major portion of the people will be left behind," said Roger Cressey, a former anti-terrorism official in the Clinton and Bush administrations. "You may have to write some of them off in far larger numbers than people realize."

Cressey said the answer is not simply giving local governments more money to improve emergency operation plans.

Lawmakers said they plan to address the issue.

"You would think four years after 9/11 with billions of dollars spent to improve our emergency preparedness that the response to Katrina would be far crisper, far better coordinated and not marred by failures at all levels of government," said GOP Sen. Susan Collins (news, bio, voting record) of Maine, who heads the Senate Homeland Security Committee.
The asleep at the wheel Congress got together to vote special legislation for a brain dead woman, for asserting we all love Gold Star Mothers who aren't called "Cindy" and to vote for highway pork. But they, like our other rulers, can't be too interested in protecting Americans. That isn't part of the plan. Now that they, too, are caught in the spot light, they will pretend to care and hold meetings and hearings.
Local preparations vary and in some cases are nonexistent:

_New York City officials plan to rely heavily on mass transit to get people out of the city.

_Los Angeles officials concede they don't have proper plans for a mass evacuation or shelter for those who are left homeless by an earthquake or terrorist attack.

_Washington had a mass evacuation drill after this year's Independence Day fireworks on the National Mall, which revealed some glitches that officials say they are working to fix.

_Kansas Gov. Kathleen Sebelius has ordered officials in her state to identify by name everyone likely to be bypassed in an evacuation.

_Milwaukee leaders realized they have misplaced their evacuation plan, devised during the Cold War.
You know, the plan during much of the Cold War was for people to curl up in a fetal position with their arms around their heads and kiss their asses goodbye. During the Cold War, my family lived always on the very edge of the city like in Tucson, near the mountain passes so we could high tail it over Seven Falls and the other side of Rincon mountain. No worries about traffic, we were the last house before the open desert.

In DC, two story 50 year+ old brick firehouses have "Nuclear Shelter" signs on them. Supposedly, this is where thousands should flee. Cheney and Bush spent $600+ million the last three years building elaborate nuclear bomb shelters for themselves and for their buddies. I suppose, Rove will spend Chinese loans afterwards to rebuild.

From the Washington Post
Bush mulls lead role for military in disasters
U.S. President George W. Bush said on Sunday that Congress ought to consider giving the U.S. military the lead role in responding to natural disasters, as he heard one general describe the Hurricane Katrina rescue effort as a "train wreck."

Bush spent the last three days monitoring Hurricane Rita's high winds and flooding from military bases and emergency centers in Colorado, Texas and Louisiana. The president, whose poll numbers have slumped to new lows, was widely criticized over the slow federal response to Katrina.

His meetings with military brass and disaster coordinators were aimed at showing hands-on approach to Rita -- in contrast to when Katrina struck on August 29 and he was in Arizona and California pitching his Medicare prescription drug benefit.

But in his sixth Gulf Coast tour, Bush steered clear of visiting devastated areas or meeting with displaced victims, saying he did not want to disrupt the relief effort.

Maj. Gen. John White, who briefed Bush at Randolph Air Force Base in San Antonio, urged him to create a national plan for large-scale disasters like Katrina.
This is what the end of democracy looks like. We are watching it unfold thanks to large scale deliberate bad work. As Bush and Congress and our local leaders all drop one dish after another, oh, those butter fingered babies!---they all look innocently at us and say, "We can't handle things, we want a strong leader, a strong organization, the military, to rule us so we won't have messy democracy that won't work, HAIL CAESAR. HEIL HITLER."

And they will egg us into rushing to whoever has been chosen by our shadowy rulers.

When Congress was spooked into passing Homeland Security which is a direct translation of the Nazi words for the same sort of thing, It was to take all our agencies like the FBI and CIA and ONI and DARPA and the military and make them one big fat controlling machine that would protect us all.

The Patriot Act had only one function: to destroy the Constitution. If all the "elected" officials signed onto this and the courts upheld this, then the structure for the coming military dictatorship is legal. Like Nazi laws. Padillo was arrested only as a test case to see if the courts and more importantly, the media and the people would OK this elimination of the Constitution.

It has worked, so far.

The military has deliberately fucked up their invasions conducted for and with the leadership of civilian powers. Showing how inept and foolish civilians are, they fail at the simplest chores. Note that Homeland Security was handed over to an obvious nimcompoop who isn't even a full citizen anymore, a man of divided loyalites. This is part of the insure he would be awful. At every level, people who are utterly incompetent as well as inappropriate are selected whether it be ambassadors at the UN or trade representatives, this can't be accidental.

It is part of the Plan. The Atlantic Monthly ran an article seven years ago predicted that due to wild spending, tax cuts and incompetence, the American people will be forced to seek a Savior and the military would provide or choose this Savior. Like the Roman Empire. To save us from whatever.

It dosen't matter to them, really.
Putting the military in a lead role would sideline FEMA,which now works with local and state officials to coordinate disaster response.

Louisiana Sen. Mary Landrieu, a Democrat, expressed reticence about that approach on CNN's "Late Edition."

Landrieu said the military has a strong role to play "but so do our governors and our local elected officials."

"I mean we do have a democracy and a citizenship that has elected mayors, county commissioners and governors particularly. I'm not sure the governors association or all the mayors in America would be willing to step aside," she said.
The fact that a private "security" company was brought into an American city purely to disarm the citizens and the NRA stayed silent all the while, they experimented with the disarmament of citizens, this action was designed to void the Second Amendment. It worked. When the NRA woke up and spoke to Bush, he cancelled the exercise and seemingly retreated but it wasn't necessary to carry it out, the probe worked. Circumventing the Constititution, Homeland Secruity, state and city governments, there was no outcry in the press or the people. Just quiet agreements to keep up appearances. The photos of private paramilitary corporate entities smashing down doors, submachineguns engaged, all to disarm Americans, were a little too much too soon.

I know my NRA friends were very spooked by all that. I warned them for years, "Your collection of pop guns will be worthless if our rulers suddenly and capriciously decide it is time to disarm you. The key to control is in the military." Indeed, this is why they are hiring mercenaries both in the miiitary and private corporate armies. Americans, chased out of our own military by ridiculous and specious wars, will soon be dependent on aliens for our protection.

Schwarzenegger is part of this scheme, like Hitler, his ideal, was an alien in Germany, and alien, like Chertoff has voluntarily become when he chose to become an Israeli, aliens who have pledged alligance to alien flags, elevated to positions of power, pretending to be strong willed, powerful protectors. A native American who believes in this country and wants to sincerely protect the citizens is not good. That person won't ruthlessly enforce the Fascist rules of ordnung. An alien won't mind killing off "excess" populations, the poor, the elderly, the sick, babies.

Here is a Nazi poster trying to egg citizens of Germany into murdering the sick:
It says basically, why spend all that money on genetic defectives? Indeed, the Holocaust started with these people.

From The World Peace Herald:
Robert Richer, the outgoing No. 2 official in the CIA's clandestine service, made an unusual appearance at a closed session of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence Wednesday to answer questions about how his concern over a lack of leadership at the agency triggered his retirement, The Washington Post reported. *snip*On Sept. 14, Richer gave Goss a blunt assessment of his tenure and urged him to demonstrate leadership that senior career officials could rally behind.

"Rob laid at his doorstep, in a collegial way, that Goss is out of touch," said one officer whose identity is protected by law. "It fell on deaf ears," the officer said.
Another civilian who is "out of touch" and shows little leadership. Hahaha.

You think the CIA will be run by me? I could do it. Of course, much of it would be to eliminate most of their dirty work which is pretty much what it is all about anyway. Our problem is diplomatic as well as philisophical. We don't love freedom and democracy nor did we ever want to spread it around. We wanted safety and control.

Who can run any spook organization and sleep at night? I know first hand, it drives people nuts unless they are psychopaths or criminals.

Germany decided to follow the psychopaths selected by the industrialists and the military. We all know how that turned out.

Never again, right?

By Elaine Meinel Supkis

Thank you, Raw Story, yet again.
Former U.S. president Jimmy Carter delivered a shocker at an American University panel in Washington Monday: RAW STORY has learned he told the crowd he was certain Al Gore won the 2000 presidential election.

There is "no doubt in my mind that Gore won the election," the erstwhile President declared, saying the 2000 election process "failed abysmally."

He also snubbed the Supreme Court for getting involved, saying it was "highly partisan."
The horse left that barn how many years ago? And the barn is burning down while under water, like Atlantis. The train left the station, blew up and fell off the bridge that collapsed.

Now he tells us. A million hours too late. I wonder about all the Democrats. What is being applied to them to strong arm them into going along with the mess we are now in? Are they as clueless as they pretend? HAHAHA. They read the polls. Now that even totally out of the loop people have noticed we are being run by a drunk lunatic, now our "leaders" step forth to lead.

HAHAHA. Except they don't dare.
Carter founded FEMA in 1979.

When I founded FEMA "we put it together with three specific commitments," Carter remarked. "One, that it would be led [by] highly trained professionals in dealing with disasters. Secondly, that it would be completely independent and not under another agency that would submerge it. And third, that it would be adequately funded."

The former president said the key reason for creating the agency was to respond to governors who asked for a consolidation of the 16 bureaucracies previously responsible for emergency relief efforts. Carter said he hoped that the changes he ordered would have remained permanent, allowing for a more effective response to a hurricane now claiming upwards of 1000 lives.

Carter agreed with Bush on one point: "I think that now is the best time not to look back on blaming about Katrina, but to try to correct the defects that have evolved in recent years and make sure it is not repeated."
So, Bush trashed FEMA and turned it into a joke and undid everything Carter set up and we are not supposed to look back?

What's the matter? Will us people who want to place blame where it belongs, all turn into salt pillars? Talk about insane.

Dear Jimmy, looking back is part of the learning process. It is called "those who don't learn from history will repeat the same mistakes" or as Bush said, "Fool me twice, can't fool me again." Namely, only brain damaged people live for the moment. Anyone else doing this outside an insane asylum ends up dead or dead. This is not a good way to live.

"So what if he crashed the car, burned down the house and raped the dog. He will try to behave next time slightly better if we push hard," sounds like the Bush family as they break laws, drink, take drugs and in general, run over former boyfriends or go AWOL. Don't review their past behavior, don't judge them, what the fuck?

Normal people, when they screw up, get examined. Like at the Nuremburg Trials, we made a big to-do about past deeds. This week, a Nazi hunter who thought stealing from Palestinians was perfectly fine for Jewish fascists, wouldn't let go of the past. Weisenthal kept after gerenological Nazis while ignoring modern fascists. Don't look back, he screams as he looks backwards.

With Saddam, we want to put him on trial for things he did before 1990. We are going to detail all the Iraqis he tortured or killed. But we aren't supposed to look back to last year about us killing and torturing. We will turn into a block of salt!

The GOP, naturally, wants us to blank out their entire past. They want to apply a microscope to our own past deeds. This is the ultimate, top hypocricy. I remember the press and GOP howling about something Hillary may or may not have said 25 years ago or what Kerry may or may not have done when he volunteered for Nam while Bush was AWOL. These trivial, stupid things were hashed over harshly for weeks and weeks.

Then thousands die because of bubble boy and we aren't supposed to look back?

The corpses haven't even been picked up yet, you know! The smell is overpowering. Don't look back!

The destruction of America is happening as fast as I predicted. The night the Supreme Court, at near midnight, announced their bizarre, unconstitutional ruling in Bush vs Gore, I was very gloomy and said, "Thousands if not millions will die because of this ruling." And so it is.

Bush and many of our rulers love to play with Black Magic. One doesn't have to believe in this magic to still recognize that if a leader and his gang believes in this and do the rituals connected with this, they are dangerous, for the rule is "do what you will" and Hitler, a black magic person, always was yammering about "Der Willen" and obsessed about it and he believed, like the Bush fascists, that one makes reality, reality doesn't make oneself. Namely, it doesn't matter what is happening, it is what you desire to happen that counts.

This is why, when cornered, Bush talks mysteriously about systems and appearances and protocols. He isn't out to make things work, he is trying to explain to us how we can imagine the impossible by deluding ourselves like he deludes himself.

Lyndie England is on trial for torturing prisoners. The Pentagon and the courts still refuse to release the truly sickening photos of guard after guard, interrogator after interrogator, torturing, raping, abusing humans. So far, 240 soldiers have been put on trial for this and still, the black magician Bush and his court pretend they are all accidental and out of control.

Padillo sits in prison, in defiance of the Constitution, Gitmo has a hunger strike going and more and more prisoners are in the hospital being forced fed, defiant to the bitter end, dying. Another black eye for us. Bare mention in the news. More oil pipelines blown up, no point in linking all the articles, we know the drill.

What was Congress doing last night? Terrified, frightened to death by today's demonstrations, this is what they did while Galveston burned, New Orleans flooded, half a million stuck on highways and in tents in the middle of one of the worst hurricanes in our history, and this is what they were busy doing last night.....From the Washington Times:
As Congress this week honored parents whose sons or daughters have been killed in Iraq, some families said Cindy Sheehan and her anti-war group do not represent them and are disrespecting the fallen soldiers.
"You can't call into question the integrity of the commander in chief without having it call into question the integrity of those under his command," said Diane Ibbotson, whose son Army Cpl. Forest Jostes, 21, died in April 2004 outside Baghdad.
"Let's talk about the things they've accomplished," she said, listing the end of Saddam Hussein's dictatorship, Iraq's first free elections, and the building of schools and hospitals.
Mrs. Sheehan lost her son, Army Spc. Casey Sheehan, 24, in the same battle as Mrs. Ibbotson's son, and both women became part of American Gold Star Mothers, a nonprofit, apolitical group of families whose children have died fighting in wars.
On Wednesday, the House passed a resolution, 416-0, honoring the goals and ideals of the American Gold Star Mothers, which began in 1928. House lawmakers held a bipartisan news event yesterday to honor them.
Why don't they stop everything and vote on apple pie? Eh?

The terrified mice in our government are not sending their children out to die in hurricanes or wars. All of them sit in this big bubble and they sieg heil everything in sight even as everything spirals out of control. Like Nazi Germany, Bush and they send in non-existent troops to stop the Red Army. Moving markers on maps and sending out notices and pumping each other up, waving their flags and shouting salutes louder and louder as the destruction rises, so does America's rulers.

Yesterday's Washington Post editorial was such an exercise. Instead of examining the collapse of our civil defenses, they simply pretended everything was jim dandy! Today, thousands are dying. There are nearly 500 in tents being pounded this very minute by 100+mph winds, tornadoes and record rains. How many are alive? God alone knows. I do know, they are probably clinging to trees and screaming. Since the hurricane is going to stall right over the camp, they will tire after 12 hours and let go.

America is drowning, burning, melting, shaking, our rickety system going down.

What is Homeland Security doing? Read this: From the New Mexican:
U.S. immigration officials refused Tuesday to allow Robert Fisk, longtime Middle East correspondent for the London newspaper, The Independent, to board a plane from Toronto to Denver. Fisk was on his way to Santa Fe for a sold-out appearance in the Lannan Foundation’s readings-and-conversations series Wednesday night.

According to Christie Mazuera Davis, a Lannan program officer, Fisk was told that his papers were not in order.

Davis made last-minute arrangements Wednesday for Amy Goodman, host of Pacifica Radio’s daily news show, Democracy Now!, to interview Fisk via satellite from a television station in Toronto. He appeared on a large screen onstage at the Lensic Performing Arts Center.

The controversial British journalist, who is based in Beirut, filed many eyewitness reports on the U.S. invasion of Iraq and criticized Western reporters for “hotel journalism ,” a phrase he coined to describe correspondents who covered the war from heavily fortified hotel suites and offices.
So, while hurricanes stomp us into the ground, grinding us to dust, our protectors are busy keeping reporters who report the truth out. Despite the fact that his presentation was sold out by people hungry for truth and reality, the morons manipulating reality stopped him from coming in but not from appearing via video.

Of course, we never ever see this person on TV here. Our media still works hard to manipulate reality which is why they glide over their lies gingerly, hoping no one notices they lie. To keep panicky world markets quiet, they all lied, up and down, about the conditions of the refineries and oil rigs in the Gulf. I said they would be clobbered but everyone thought otherwise because they all wanted to believe the black magic lies, imagining that if they pretend Santa Claus is real, he will show up and shower them with goodies!

It didn't work. At all. Now the hurricane is busy tearing apart major refineries and no one knows the status of the broken drilling rigs. I said they would be annihilated in the last storm, this one, ditto, DUH. 49 rigs inoperative or completely gone from Katrina. Guess what?

There isn't going to be much left if this hurricane does what several forecasters are saying: it will go backwards into the Gulf and become a hurricane yet again. This is no time for playing games. When reporters, egged on by liberal bloggers, ask the top GOP leaders in Congress to cancel bridges to nowhere in Alaska and game farms in Ohio and so on, they yell at the reporters to shut up. They want the pork. They won't cut pork to save Americans. The financial bind we are in is already costing us power. We just surrendered to North Korea who is busy kicking us in the shins over this, openly laughing at us while the Chinese struggle to keep a straight face.

Iran has told everyone they will do as they want because they don't fear us anymore. A correct assesment.

&spades Back to the Iraq mess, read this. From Xinhuanet:
A deputy mayor of the Iraqi town of Dhuluiyah, some 100 km north of Baghdad, and two police officers were killed by US forces there on Friday, local policeand witnesses said.

"A group of US soldiers stormed the house of Brigadier Jabar Atiyah Saud, the deputy mayor of Dhuluiyah and dragged him out of his house before they shot him several bullets in his head," asource from the Joint Coordination Center in Tikrit told Xinhua on condition of anonymity.

Meanwhile, the US soldiers also killed two local police officers, Captain Amir Yousif and the 1st Lt. Jasim Khalaf, the source added.

The US troops have sealed off the town of Dhuluiyah since Tuesday, imposing curfew and preventing people from leaving their homes as US snipers deployed on roofs of high buildings, local residents told Xinhua by telephone.

"The US soldiers shot the drinking water containers above houses and many families are suffering from shortage in watersupplies," a local resident, Ammar al-Jubouri said. The wounded people or even deaths were not allowed to shift to the medical center outside the town, Jubouri said. On Wednesday, the US troops had detained the police chief of the town and hundreds of people, including dozens of policemen, after insurgents in Dhuluiyah attacked a convoy of trucks carrying military supplies for the US troops.

The attack damaged three trucks in the convoy guarded by the US troops and killed their three drivers, probably Turkish nationals, According to the source.
Thank you, Communist China. for news that is censored here. Like the startling news about Basra, the government there has asked the Brits to leave now and the Brits are attacking the authorities there and the top cleric has declared the constitution null and void...oh, remember that? It was supposed to solve everything.

Well, we are going down the drain. Or rather, the drain is blocked up and we are bobbing with turds and toxic wastes and no way of flushing this mess.

Except for one: Arrest them all. Arrest them. I couldn't go to the demonstrations because my husband's condition, even yesterday, I had to spend a good part of the day, at the neurologist, dealing with his problems. I wanted to go so badly.

There will be virtually no news about the demonstrations from our media. It will be blacked out as much as the hurricane news is being blacked out right now.

By Elaine Meinel Supkis, tent maker supreme

News continues--1:40am EDT
According to forecasts now, the winds are at 126 mph sustained! And in 30 hours will drop to 100 mph. This means it will be very vicious until Monday morning? Amazing. One forecaster is calling for it to shoot away from Texas and end up directly hitting my mountain. I hope it does, the other forecasts are for something very awful, a stalled hurricane that won't drop below 65mph winds until Wednsday.

Some of the readers here were right about the eye striking mainly Louisiana. It is going ashore right now at Port Charles. This is where a great number of refineries are. Gas is going to be hard to get and dear in price starting next week if not tomorrow.

More News--1:15am EDT
This photo just came in on Yahoo.
Can we arrest these traitors now? Seriously. I will note now that all the hooey about none of the oil rigs, refineries being hit by this vast hurricane, guess what?

They are being savaged by it.

Here is a picture from Galveston:
Like on 9/11, the firemen go where it is nearly impossible to go and fight valiantly against all odds, risking their lives for us. A moment of silence for them. Hope they fare well tonight. They aren't laughing, that is certain.

Breaking news--1am EDT
From CNN:

When asked how long the storm would affect Texas and Louisiana, Mayfield offered a dour prediction.

"I'm afraid we're talking about days," he said. "The immediate concern is the coastline tonight and tomorrow morning, but then after that, for the next four or five days, we need to be very careful about the inland fresh-water flooding."

In downtown Galveston, Texas, video showed heavy smoke and a blizzard of blowing embers as firefighters tried to control large fires in at least two buildings. One of the buildings was destroyed. It was unclear whether anyone was inside them.

Firefighters were hindered by gusty winds of up to 70 mph, which fanned the flames. CNN's Sean Callebs said the winds apparently blew off the roof of a downtown multi-story hotel.

Ninety percent of the city, where it was raining Friday night, was evacuated in anticipation of Rita, officials said earlier.

Steve Rinard, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Lake Charles, Louisiana, told The Associated Press that tornado warnings were "popping up like firecrackers."

Forecasters say Rita will make landfall early Saturday near Port Arthur, Texas. The city of about 58,000 people is home to a port and several oil refineries and chemical plants, according to the chamber of commerce's Web site.

Port Arthur Mayor Oscar Ortiz said most of the residents had fled, but "I'm afraid we're going to get it real bad."

Ortiz said he was concerned about Rita moving across Sabine Pass -- where Sabine Lake, a salt water estuary on the Texas-Louisiana border, flows into the Gulf of Mexico -- and pushing a large surge of water toward the city.
Oh, those poor people. Even solid houses will be hopeless in all this, I worry about my family, strangers, everyone. This is very distressing to witness from afar.

BAD NEWS---12:45am EDT
All but one forecaster is calling for this huge hurricane to pull a Mitch on us. Namely, it will stall out and then suddenly either back up and head back into the Gulf to become a new hurricane again or it will go in a circle, destroying everything, dropping several FEET of rain or it might, and only one agency is forecasting this, traipsy across the South, causing floods but not catastrophe.

Right now, most bets are for it to do the worst possible thing a huge hurricane can do: sit there.

&spades I know tents. Hugely. Massively. I lived in a tent complex I built out of odds and ends scavanged from the town dump and work sites. Lived on a mountain in a tent city for ten long difficult years. The picture you see is from the second year. The complex had seven more rooms and sub sections added for the ox stalls, the horse stalls, the sheep holding pen, the workshops, etc. It was around 2,500 sq ft when I finished the house and we all moved out.

From the NYT:
"We're now facing another big storm," Mr. Bush said while at FEMA. "Our job is to prepare for and assist state and local people to save lives and help these people get back on their feet."

Federal officials declared a public health emergency for Texas and Louisiana.

By evening it was the cities along the border of Texas and Louisiana that seemed to be in the storm's direct path. "The core of Hurricane Rita will make landfall along the southwest Louisiana and upper Texas coasts near daybreak," the National Hurricane Center said.

Communities evacuated, and residents huddled in shelters. Port Arthur, normally a town of 60,000 protected by a seawall built to sustain a 16-foot storm surge, was vacant but for a few who refused to leave.

Lake Charles, La., a city of about 72,000 just east of the Texas line, was also effectively empty, from the casino boats floating at the docks downtown to the rooms at Lake Charles Memorial Hospital, which evacuated 132 patients on Friday, most on planes flown from the former Chennault Air Force Base.
And in San Augustine Park, 90 miles north of Beaumont, hundreds of people from southeast Texas set up camp in recreational vehicles and tents in the densely forested park run by the Army Corps of Engineers despite warnings of tornadoes, falling trees and rising lake waters. "There aren't any hotels and we couldn't get gas to go any farther north," said one, Dennis Cargill of Orangefield.

Note the camp grounds are where the red star is. It is right in the path of the eye of the hurricane.
Oh my god. Oh my god! Heaven help those people. The winds of the hurricane will be hurricane force there! And the rain! Geeze. Why aren't they being taken to real shelters? If 25" of rain falls and this is very likely now, they will all die.
Here is the wind charts. Note that already, hurricane force winds are hitting the coast. They will extend at least 100 miles inland, well past this tent city! And the lake is south of the camp and the winds will push the water north and I know camp grounds. Nearly all of them are on low, flat areas.

Oh, do I know about foul weather and tents!

My tent complex was very strong for it was designed like yurts in Mongolia. Lots of dense cross members of thin slats of wood, you could walk on the roof which I covered every year with new tarps. But the wind! Oh my god.

One storm, it was so bad, everything was shaking violently and flexing, this was a blizzard. The gusts were more than 80 mph and we took several 30' logging chains which weigh around 50lbs each and threw them over the tent and secured them to the trunks of 100 year old trees. We still thought we were going to die.

Another was a flood. 6" of rain in a few hours. "A river runs through it," laughed a friend who was visiting. We had this huge pump which we ran frantically for hours as the water poured under our feet. My son played in a channel I made with a shovel, pretending to fish, floating his toys. I was running around, yelling. putting things up high and higher. What a night that was!

Then there was the violent summer squall that killed almost a dozen campers. I ran across the fields, screaming for John and Chris to forget bailing the hay, get under cover now, a horrible storm was coming and then boom. It hit, the trees bent to the ground, the wind ripped off parts of the tent, we clutched everything and prayed, lying in our tornado hole under the big bed.

We survived that.

Then there was hurricane Hugo. Yes, it came here, still had, in the mountains, winds over 60mph and it tore up the place, a tree split in two and fell between the tent and the chicken tent. We all surived that! It was a close call!

Those poor people are in a park full of dangerous trees. They are going to get winds that are minimum, 70mph sustained and with gusts up to 100mph not to mention tornadoes. They have flimsy modern tents, not powerful yurts with thick cloth walls, the felt over an inch thick, just thin nylon which falls apart immediately under strong winds, not to mention, you blow away.

My steel stakes were six feet tall and driven at least 18" to 24" into the ground! And they would really get yanked in high winds!

This news really distresses me because most people think camping is a lark. Look at all the scouts hit by lightning while camping this year! We know people killed by lightning while camping, one man was sitting on an icebox and the bolt traveled down a tree, through the roots and up into him, blowing him away. I have been hit by lightning in a tent!

Tents are dangerous in storms! And hurricanes?

God help those poor people!

By Elaine Meinel Supkis

I have been fortunate to be able to bring together, with the help via From,Douglass Daniel of the Associated Press, via a seance with the not so quick, Bush and the dead, LBJ. Since Bush won't meet with Cindy Sheehan or with anyone who disputes anything with him, being slow of mind and all that, we circumvented him and will appeal to his undetached alter ego, Bush Chang.
OK, spirits, are you here? If yes, knock twice, if no, knock once.
Very funny. We know you are here, under the table. Now come out and be sociable. We are here tonight to talk about the amazing parallels between the Vietnam debacle and the Iraq meltdown. According to AP, both of you made identical statements under identical conditions. Shall we review them, please?
"America is committed to the defense of South Vietnam until an honorable peace can be negotiated," Johnson told the Tennessee Legislature on March 15, 1967. Despite the obstacles to victory, the president said, "We shall stay the course.

"After 14 Marines died in a roadside bombing on Aug. 3, Bush declared: "We will stay the course, we will complete the job in Iraq. And the job is this: We'll help the Iraqis develop a democracy."
LBJ, back in the sixties, I held up signs and passed out leaflets and made speeches making fun of the entire idea of "staying the course". I compared it to ignoring "bridge out" signs while driving straight ahead. I was right, you were wrong. Worse, before Bush invaded Iraq, I warned over and over again, it would be a cul de sac and a victory for Iran aside from being illegal and unpopular. Again, I was right, both of you were totally wrong. What do you say about that?
Communists would have triumphed if we didn't fight them.
Nixon, whose ghost lurks here, I can feel his chill, he shook hands with Mao at the height of the Cultural Revolution and he sold wheat to the USSR! So how can we call it a victory when the solution to Vietnam was to give in to two powerful communist nations?
Only Republicans can betray America to communists. This is why they have so many former communists called neo-cons, working for them now. And why they are sending jobs to China and going deeply into debt.
This reminds me, we had no debt until Vietnam. Now we are up to our eyeballs in hock to communist countries.
Hey, that reminds me, I have to call Uncle Hu in Beijing for some more money to fix Texas!
Moving on, here is another pair of quotes:
"Our nation was not born easily. There were times in those years of the 18th century when it seemed as if we might not be born at all," Johnson said in a speech on Aug. 16, 1967.

"Given that background, we ought not to be astonished that this struggle in Vietnam continues," Johnson said. "We ought not to be astonished that that nation, wracked by a war of insurgency and beset by its neighbors to the north, has not already emerged, full-blown, as a perfect model of two-party democracy."
And now here is Bush doing the same song and dance:
In his radio address on Aug. 27, Bush said: "Like our own nation's founders over two centuries ago, the Iraqis are grappling with difficult issues, such as the role of the federal government. What is important is that Iraqis are now addressing these issues through debate and discussion — not at the barrel of a gun."
Mr. Bush, isn't it bizarre to say that issues are not settled by using a gun yet you used guns and missiles and rockets against the Iraqi people in your attempt to impose foreign rule upon them. And we can clearly see, two more American soldiers were blown up today, even as your children and nephews and nieces run around, getting arrested and goofing off in America while their contemporaries die in vain in Iraq...another similarity to Nam where you went AWOL while your dad and his buddies and Nixon threw the children of the powerless into battle. Why didn't you act like a patriot and fight in Nam? What ails you?
A secure and free America was tied to the fight in Southeast Asia, Johnson maintained. "What happens in Vietnam is extremely important to the nation's freedom and it is extremely important to the United States' security," he said from the South Lawn of the White House on Sept. 15, 1967.
I remember those years. I got so disgusted with you, I swore I would fight you every step of the way from then on and I had to do this for years and years before America finally surrendered. The minute we surrendered, the pain stopped, the riots ended. Peace came. We were able to pick up the pieces and get on with our lives at last. Everything we touched in Asia was a mess and stayed a mess for a long time. But at least we didn't collapse like Russia.
Stay the corpse!
It is important to control the world so we can be safe. Look at 9/11.
I won the trifecta! Whoopee. My best year. It was great. Couldn't do better.
Like in Vietnam, we now have little security at home since the troops are getting restive and they are all far away and our own country is falling apart rapidly. Neither of you guys were willing to die for America. Both of you refused to bear the burden of your own choices. It is easy to send people to their deaths but if either of you really believed any of the hokum you both spat out, you would have gone to battle yourselves.

Kings in the old days did that. They always had to go to war themselves. I think this is a good idea. Keeps them from doing it for no good reason. So, Bush, are you going to make up for being AWOL?
Why can't Cindy Sheehan just get on with her life? Sheesh. Going all weepy over the death of her son. So what? I have things to do and things to screw up.
Important people should be protected totally, even in nuclear war, if everyone dies, the decision makers should live. Oh, oh. I hear the Devil that is Death laughing at me. This won't be fun, later.
Any leader who starts a nuclear war and then ducks into safety until it is over deserves eternity in hell. Speaking of eternity, here are similar quotes about dead soldiers who will stay dead forever and forever even as the leaders live on, eating and sleeping and fucking off.
"Be assured that the death of your son will have meaning," Johnson told the parents of a posthumous recipient of the Medal of Honor during a Rose Garden ceremony on April 6, 1967. "For I give you also my solemn pledge that our country will persist — and will prevail — in the cause for which your boy died."
Speaking to military families in Idaho on Aug. 24, Bush said: "These brave men and women gave their lives for a cause that is just and necessary for the security of our country, and now we will honor their sacrifice by completing their mission."
So, Mr. Bush. You never served, you went AWOL and got drunk, stoned on illegal drugs and arrested again and again and here you sit, talking about patriotism and sacrifice.

Are you willing to pay realistic taxes to support your war of choice? Are you going to make your cohorts pay taxes too? Or are you going to continue to sell us to the communist Chinese?
zzzzzzz*eh. What? It is past my beddy bye time. Where is Condi? I need to find the toilet. Condi! Help!
So much for the leaders of the Free World. Time to return to regular programming: "Mother Nature Stomps on America."
