What To Do With Pesky Palestinians Roils World Leaders (Ouside of the Chinese)

By Elaine Meinel Supkis

All day, the stream of media stories are flowing. Palestinian politics have just left the Ice Ages and now are bubbling merrily along and this is going to free up the politics of more than one country, to our great annoyance. So I feel compelled to cover it all a little more. Thank you.

From Associated Press:
Members of the so-called Quartet — the U.S., the European Union, the United Nations and Russia — issued a statement saying: "The Quartet reiterates its view that there is a fundamental contradiction between armed group and militia activities and the building of a democratic state. A two-state solution to the conflict requires all participants in the democratic process to renounce violence and terror, accept Israel's right to exist, and disarm."

Rice also talked with Abbas and the Israeli foreign minister, Tzipi Livni. She will travel to Europe for further consultations Monday.

"You cannot have one foot in politics and another in terror," Rice told the World Economic Conference in Davos, Switzerland, via a telephone hookup from the State Department. "Our position on Hamas has therefore not changed."
Isn't it hilarious? The various conspiritors who attacked Iraq and are threatening Iran are all running around like chickens with their heads cut off, consulting various fortunetellers ("I see a dark, handsome terrorist in your future") and has been politicians, trying to find some way out of the mess they created for themselves when they decided to stomp on peasants.

Pissed peasants are extremely dangerous. The reason the British royalty lasted so long is their ancient formula: when choosing between pissed off peasants and pissed off nobles, side with the peasants or you will end up like Marie Antoinette.

Condi's statement about one foot in terror and one in politics is particularily funny coming from the front woman for the GOP death squadders who call for killing or blasting from outer space or having god rend apart, fellow Americans just because we dont' want them snooping on our private affairs. Golly. And "shock and awe"? Aren't we the world's biggest and nastiest terrorists?

And the Israeli Defence Force? A gang of terrorists on an epic scale.

Anyway, Condi rushes around meeting everyone but those who will be actually running Palestine. The news media just told the Chinese, America gives only a measly $150 million to the Palestinians while giving over $4 billion a year to the leeches in Israel. So the Chinese, ever eager to plonk down Go stones on the World Go Board, think, this is plenty cheap! They can be the sponsors of Palestine and Iran, this flanks Saudi Arabia and is on the border of Egypt, another place they are eyeing. America is tremendously unpopular in Egypt.

And Saudi Arabia. Hmmm. They can offer to build a deep sea port for Palestine. The Zionists and American imperialists will scream like crazed golems but this won't stop China who can take all this to the UN and demand they lay off or else.

After all, Israel gets much of their money from America and America gets a tremendous amount from China so neither can bite the hand that feeds them, can they? And the Palestinians can now play on the World Stage, they don't have much, but it is worth something.

Unlike the PLA, Hamas has never attacked Europe or other Muslim governments or menaced anyone but Israel. So unlike with us, in Muslim lands, they are much more popular and you can bet, the new Hamas head of state will visit Malaysia, Indonesia, Egypt, all the huge population centers in the Muslim world.

Everywhere he goes, he will be recieved like a king. That is, if Israel allows any Hamas leader to survive or travel. Killing them all will only empower the Palestinians who have many waiting in line, more than happy to die for what they believe. And if they move up in the world and become a Power, watch out.

After all, we are the world's biggest debtor nation with our industry on the ropes, our hopes failing, our government nearly bankrupt, gads.

What a world.
Bush also called on Abbas, a U.S. ally, to remain in office despite Fatah's defeat by Hamas in parliamentary elections. Abbas, elected separately a year ago, said he was committed to negotiations with Israel and suggested talks would be conducted through the Palestine Liberation Organization, a possible way around a Hamas-led government.
This is errant nonsense. You don't negotiate with losers, you do it with winners. Abbas has no "street cred" so he can't sign away the birthright of Esau without Esau's permission. If Abbas wants to be a total Quisling tool, fine, he won't surivive long, making a seperate peace over the objections of the ruling party.
"A political party that articulates the destruction of Israel as part of its platform is a party with which we will not deal," he said at a White House news conference. But he also said, "Peace is never dead because people want peace."
How can the Palestinians have peace? No one, at least no one who has any gumption, wants peace if it means being tortured to death, starved to death, locked in a ghetto. This isn't peace, this is pure evil.
Washington was shocked by Hamas' landslide victory. Sen. Lindsey Graham (news, bio, voting record), R-S.C., called it "a de-facto declaration of war by the Palestinian people against the state of Israel." Rep. Nita Lowey (news, bio, voting record), D-N.Y., said the outcome was "very disturbing" and Hamas needed to disarm, denounce violence and recognize Israel's right to exist.
America and Israel not only have nukes, together, they have the majority of the world's military. Demanding this people who have only a few feeble arms, disarm even more so we can torture them at our leisure without fear of them punching back, is...pure evil.

Where is Israel's declaration that Palestine should exist 100% within their post-Israeli seizure of 1948? I don't see it at all. So why demand they cede everything, now? That is surrender and surrender only means more thefts, more abuse.

If China ends up sponsoring the new Palestinian state, this will be most amusing especially if they give Palestine silkworm missiles, just for one example.

Power grows out of the barrel of a silkworm missile launcher.

Oh, and I almost forgot. From the NYT:
But in a news conference, President Bush also struck a conciliatory note, saying that it was clear that Hamas's performance was a triumph of democracy, among Palestinians in particular and Arabs in general, and a rebuke to "the old guard there." It was striking that his tone was less one of confrontation than of inviting Hamas to change its ways while the world watches.
Less confrontational? He merely asked them to surrender, disarm, and obey. How sweet. Gah. Typical NYT pro-Israeli editorial comment. Bush always hated Fatah just like the Zionists, so relishing their collapse is no surprize, but if he thinks Hamas is going to be ineptly run, he better think twice (thinking even once is a challenge for him, though).

Again, the Chinese are probably calling Hamas right now and opening negotiations including sponsoring students at their fearsomely effective Diplomacy school I blogged about here (will try to find that story, it isn't easy, this blog is already getting pretty big!).
