While America Sleeps, Bush Pushes for WWIII With Demands Iran Be Disarmed Violently
By Elaine Meinel Supkis
Bush steps up demands on Iran, Senators appear on TV, demanding we bomb Iran to disarm them just like our demands that Iraq disarm preceeded our craven invasion. Iran says they will cut off all oil to any country demanding they disarm. WWIII, here we come.
- Iran said it was "not scared" of being hauled before the UN Security Council and warned any sanctions over its disputed nuclear programme could cause an unexpected hike in oil prices. The anti-proliferation treaties were not designed to keep possible victims of aggression disarmed. America has overthrown governments in Iran in the past and is a 100% enemy of Iran. They have very good reason to arm in such a way as to protect their sovereignty. Look at the neighbors! Using extreme violence for peaceful purposes is totally insane.
The Islamic republic's defiant remarks came as European, American, Chinese and Russian officials prepared to discuss the crisis in London on Monday.
They are expected to set a date for an emergency meeting of the International Atomic Energy Agency's (IAEA's) 35-nation board of governors.
From Alert Net:
Republican and Democratic senators said on Sunday the United States may ultimately have to undertake a military strike to deter Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons, but that should be the last resort.Gads. Insane. McCain is a semi-senile warmonger. Bayh should be ashamed of himself after supporting the illegal invasion of Iraq and then not impeaching Bush for lying about WMD which never existed there, it was all fake, as fake as our pretend democracy.
"That is the last option. Everything else has to be exhausted. But to say under no circumstances would we exercise a military option, that would be crazy," Republican Sen. John McCain of Arizona said on CBS's "Face the Nation."
Democratic Sen. Evan Bayh of Indiana, a member of the Senate Intelligence Committee, said there are sensitive elements of Iran's nuclear program, which, if attacked, "would dramatically delay its development."
"But that should not be an option at this point. We ought to use everything else possible keep from getting to that juncture," he said on CNN's "Late Edition."
McCain called the nuclear standoff "the most grave situation that we have faced since the end of the Cold War, absent the whole war on terror."Um, Iran has never invaded anyone. Iraq attacked them at our behest and with our implicit and explicit assistance, to punish them for slipping our leash around their necks, but the aggressor nation is not them but us. They poke at Israel, verbally, but sticks and stones may break my bones and all that! Their words are hardly different from the old geezer despots running the Saudi police state! So why pay any attention to that? Israel has invaded Lebanon, for example, and has illegal nukes! Why aren't we bombing them, oh, I forgot, they own many people running this country. Well.
"We must go to the U.N. now for sanctions. If the Russians and the Chinese, for reasons that would be abominable, do not join us then we will have to go with the (states that are) willing," he said.
The world won't be safer if we end up at war with Iran, too. Canada's "peace keepers" in Afghanistan were blown up yesterday. The top officials from Canada died in that explosion. The anti-American demonstrations now rage across nuclear power Pakistan thanks to Americans shooting robot missiles at peasants armed with the equivilent of pea-shooters.
And Economy Minister Davoud Danesh-Jaafari said "any sanctions in the current situation would be more detrimental for the West than for Iran. Our oil companies love high prices! Russia loves high prices even more. Putin is renegotiating all his energy contracts and he would love to rake in more dough. Higher prices means Venezuela has more money to buy weapons, too. Indeed, we push the balloon there, it expands elsewhere. Of course, Japan is ticked off that China has a major foothold in Iran. And Israel fears Iran as they steal more Palestinian lands, the news there is awful, as usual, they had to announce they will let the Muslims and others in Jerusalem a vote but like in Egypt and other despotic anti-democratic regimes, arrested all the candidates most likely to win, in this case as usual, violently.
"Iran is in a very important regional situation, and any disturbance of the economic and political situation of the country could turn the regional situation into a crisis and increase the price of oil higher than what the West expects," he was quoted as saying by state television.
Meanwhile, Bolton and Bush are snarling at our bankers, the Chinese, and at Pootie-Poot Putin the Judo/KGB expert, to not side with Iran, not back Iran, not arm Iran, etc. Or else we will retaliate by doing what? Going to Germany for our funding? The Germans hate playing inflation bag games, they got burned in the mid nineteentwenties.
From Energy Bulletin:
An organisation representing the National Health Service, Tesco and other top companies has called for a moratorium on further rises in gas and electricity prices.Looks like old Tony Blair ain't in good shape for an oil price war. China, unlike the near bankrupt USA/Anglo empire, has nearly a trillion dollars in American money to buy world oil. So they can bid it up. If we want some, we have to go to them for more loans! So it is in their interest, like Russia, to see the price climb, for this will slay our economy and our entire way of existing.
The Major Energy Users' Council (MEUC) urged utilities such as British Gas to hold back plans to further increase bills and instead work cooperatively with "shell-shocked" customers.
Andrew Bainbridge, director general of the MEUC, said: "We need a moratorium because our members are already shell-shocked by a series of price rises and there is no way they are going to be able to claw back the extra costs.
"Further price increases will force companies out of business and suppliers must work in partnership with their customers through this difficult period."
From the NYT:
Even American farmers on the big, government subsidized farms, want higher prices! So there we have it: Europe wants lower prices but they are our competitors in the flat world/free market. And Texas oil barons and right wing Republican farmers want higher oil prices and Israel wants to kill all Muslims and so do many right wing Americans so we will get war.
But this year is different. Now it is not just the demand for food that is driving the decision, it is also the demand for ethanol, the fuel that is made from corn.
Some states are requiring that ethanol be blended in small amounts with gasoline to comply with anti-pollution laws. High oil prices are dragging corn prices up with them, as the value of ethanol is pushed up by the value of the fuel it replaces.
"We're leaning more toward corn," said Garold Den Herder, a farmer who cultivates 2,400 acres in a combination of corn and soybeans and is on the board of directors of the Siouxland Energy and Livestock Cooperative, which opened an ethanol plant here in late 2001. Last year a bushel was selling for about $2 here, but near the plant it was about 10 cents higher.
Farmers expect it to go higher soon if oil prices stay high. Ethanol was up to $1.75 a gallon, last year, from just over $1 the year before.
Only, like all previous world wars, we will bite off quite a bit more than we can chew. Why people do this is easy to see: they are insane. Pure evil and insane. Psychopaths.
