Attempts At Suppressing Nazi Symbols Via Prison And Laws Leads To Nazification Of The Law

By Elaine Meinel Supkis

Recent trials, laws and regulations in Europe are rapidly eliminating freedom of speech while doing absolutely nothing about the root causes of fascism. All the nations exercising imperialist powers want access to the process of fascism while at the same time, using fascistic methods to suppress the pitiful decorations and gee gaws of old style fascism. In other words, you can't give a "Sieg Heil" but you can join invading Iraq in order to steal oil and assist the fascists running America!

From the Sun, England:
GERMAN cops will use sweeping powers to collar England fans doing Basil Fawlty-style Hitler impressions at the World Cup.
Yobs will be instantly banged up for TWO WEEKS if they goose-step like John Cleese in his most famous Fawlty Towers scene.

And hard core louts who give Nazi salutes — like the one jokingly made by Michael Barrymore in Celebrity Big Brother — could be hauled before a judge within 24 hours.

If convicted of inciting hatred they will face jail terms of up to THREE YEARS.

Wearing joke German helmets or any offensive insignia will also result in a stretch behind bars.
Well, if that doesn't smack of totalitarianism, what does? Is it the state's business where I put my arms, how I walk? Do they have the right to outlaw any sort of free expression? Europe had this totally fake flap about how they have the freedom to make fun of Muslims but suddenly, make fun of Germany's fascist past and you get put in prison?

Whoa! Hold your horses!

Years ago, in 1968, I used to live with the niece of Adolf von Tadden, the head of the newly reborn neo fascist party in Germany. They never used any signs, gestures or insignias of the Nazis, they were merely dyed in the wool fascists and proud of it. As I pointed out in a speech I gave in Tübingen, "They don't have to say, 'Sieg Heil', they only have to endorse war with the Soviet Union and hitching Germany to imperial war machines like the one run by America."

Well, he used to hold secret meetings in Bierstuben and through my room mate, I learned where one of them was happening, von Tadden's son told her where he would be that night, so I got together with two university students, they dressed to look sort of like Nazis and I pretended to be a communist student so we could redo 1933 when battles raged between the two extremes. So we went to Göttingen and I ran into the Bierstube, ran up to the podium and yelled, "Hilfe mir!" and the students ran in to grab me. All hell broke loose and the three of us ran back out with a bunch of very angry neo-nazis chasing us through the narrow medieval streets in the Old Town sector. Yikes. I didn't want to get beaten up by real Nazis who didn't use that word or salute or anything, they were merely the real thing. The three of us threw ourselves over a retaining wall and sloshed into the stream and tore off into the countryside where it was very dark. We weren't caught. We did successfully disrupt the meeting and dragged them out into the open so it made the news which was our entire plan but Adolf (liebe den Namen!) figured out it was me and he yelled at G, my room mate. So I yelled back at him.

Anyway, the point is, having laws forbidding stuff only makes people want it more, it makes martyrs of jerks, it backfires and it is stone wrong since it interferes with freedom of speech and only reduces our collective civil rights!

"What hypocrisy. When it comes to what Germans are most sensitive about, Hitler and the Holocaust, they are ruthless censors. British historian David Irving has spent three months in a Viennese prison awaiting trial on Feb. 20 for speeches he made 15 years ago in Austria. Skeptics and deniers of the Holocaust are prosecuted, fined and imprisoned in Europe with the enthusiastic endorsement of the European press."

That demagogues and agitators are exploiting those cartoons of Mohammed to advance a war of civilizations and expel Europeans from the Middle East seems undeniable.

But that does not excuse the paralyzing stupidity of that Danish paper in running those cartoons or the arrogant irresponsibility of European newspapers in plastering those cartoons all over their front pages.
I despise Mr. Irving but putting him in prison for a speech he made? Gads! I remember Germany very well, having lived there, and the former Nazis, like the present Pope, were unrepentant and still do the "Kinder/Kuchen/Kirche" stuff even as German ladies abandon all three like they are the plague. Germany is worried about the collapsing birthrate, just like Japan, and suicide rate and all the other earmarks of people flipping out and not giving a hoot about the future but persecuting Nazis isn't the solution, either, they have no idea what to do next so they do incredibly stupid things.

Even Nazis have the right of free speech. So do racists. So do anti-gay bigots, everyone has the same thing: freedom of speech! The fascist war machine in America is devouring us and destroying the world with absolutely no one yelling, "Sieg Heil" but armies of fascists screaming, "God bless America!"

Shall we outlaw that once this whole mess collapses? Of course not.

Here is an example of fascist behavior aimed at destroying the humanity of prisoners of war that are being denied any legal protection from either American laws or the Geneva Conventions: From al Jazeera:
Quoting military officials, The Times said that the army decided to forcibly feed the detainees after it “concluded that some were determined to commit suicide to protest their indefinite confinement”.

According to the officials, prison guards have begun strapping the hunger strikers into “restraint chairs“, sometimes for hours a day, to feed them through tubes and prevent them from deliberately vomiting afterward.

Those who refuse to eat have also been detained alone for long periods, the officials said, adding that isolation is meant to keep them away from other hunger strikers.

Some military officials said the new measures reflected concern at GUANTANAMO and the Pentagon that the hunger strike was becoming difficult to control and that the death of the detainees could intensify international criticism of the detention center.
Gads. To keep Muslim prisoners alive against their wills, these prisoners protesting illegal detention with no legal legs to stand on, we are so scared of them dying, we are physically torturing them so they stay barely alive under incredibly horrible circumstances?

And Irving is in prison for denying Hitler tortured many to death? Well, all the European leaders and American leaders assisting in and enabling this horror at the American concentration camp at Gitmo should be put in prison for denying the exact same thing! Why is it OK to commit Hitlerian levels of crimes including invading helpless countries for no good reason, but not OK to say that Hitler was good for doing what Bush likes to do? Eh? What?

From a website in Germany where people are trying to discuss the Nüremburg Trials:

Major Meinel is a relative of mine. He ran a prison of war camp for mostly Russian prisoners, an infamous camp, and he clashed early on with his superiors and was finally removed by the SS. My own father testified at the Nüremburg Trials because he was one of the American OSS interrogators who had many adventures there as the war intensified during March to May, 1945 at the very bitter end when fighting raged across all of Germany.

Passing stupid laws muzzling people, muzzling people making fun! of Nazis is Naziism. How pathetic. And America wants everyone muzzled too, over what to say at Xmas, what to say at each other, everyone muzzled and everyone angry, filled with hate and raring to attack someone like Muslims in distant lands.
