Chertoff and "Leadership From Above (Bush)" To Blame For New Orleans Deaths

By Elaine Meinel Supkis

The contents of the 600 page report are out and it lays most of the blame at dual citizen, Chertoff, head of Homeland Security and his boss, the bungling vacationing bozo, Bush. Now can we arrest them and charge them? Before it is too late?

From the Washington Post:
"If 9/11 was a failure of imagination then Katrina was a failure of initiative. It was a failure of leadership," the report's preface states. "In this instance, blinding lack of situational awareness and disjointed decision making needlessly compounded and prolonged Katrina's horror."

Chertoff spokesman Russ Knocke said, "every ounce of authority" and "100 percent of everything that could be pre-staged was pre-staged" by the federal government before landfall once the president signed emergency disaster declarations on Aug. 27. Brown had "all authority" to make decisions and requests, and his "willful insubordination . . . was a significant problem" for Chertoff, Knocke said.

White House spokesman Trent Duffy said Bush had full confidence in his homeland security team, both appointed and career. "The president was involved from beginning to end," implementing emergency powers before the storm and taking responsibility afterward, Duffy said.
Since Bush was "involved" from beginning to end, he should be punished for the horrors he inflicted upon the good people of New Orleans! He chose the "I don't give a devil's damn" Chertoff to protect America and when it was obvious this clown didn't have a clue or give a hoot, the President should have dumped him instantly and installed someone better. But Bush has a history of bad choices done with deliberate malice. He wants bad things to happen because he, like Chertoff, has alliegences that are not 100% American. Note how kissy-kissy he is with the Saudis who run OPEC! His family makes a fortune running Carlyle which makes money off of American woes.

Chertoff, being a jerk, passes the buck back to stupid Brownie who shoves it back upstairs which is where it belongs since the fool running FEMA was allowed to flounder with no one saying a word except for Bush who said, "You did a heck of a job, Brownie," as praise! So the whole kit and kaboodle belongs to Bush who expressed satisfaction while babies were dying and grannies were expiring, this was all just way cool for Bush.

Like 9/11, everyone was "caught off guard" and "couldn't foresee the obvious" and the memo in August, "Mother Nature determined to strike the USA with hurricanes" was ignored. So why are we letting these clowns "protect" us? Would one tolerate police who stand idly by while criminals attack again and again? Firemen who stay in bed, sleeping, while your house is burning down?

Of course not! So when can we arrest these guys? I hear Bush pounding the same drums he beat for the war with Iraq which has been an umitigated disaster that is bankrupting us and is directly responsible for many deaths in New Orleans because of lack of manpower in the National Guard. So, before they make things even worse and before the next dozen hurricanes hit, we have to get rid of them!
The report portrays Chertoff, who took the helm of the department six months before the storm, as detached from events. It contends he switched on the government's emergency response systems "late, ineffectively or not at all," delaying the flow of federal troops and materiel by as much as three days.
I was screaming at this blog before the hurricane hit, "Where is the National Guard? Where are the people who sweep through the city, removing the weak, the poor, the elderly?" Chertoff was goofing off, Cheney was on a hunting trip (wonder who he bagged!), Condi was shopping in Manhattan and Bush was at McCain's birthday bash and then went off to give Social Security speeches!

Not one of these monsters gave two figs that Americans were dying. What is amazing is, this report was written by Republicans!
Democrats, whose leaders considered the investigation a partisan whitewash and boycotted it, called for Chertoff's removal. Reps. Charlie Melancon (D-La.) and William J. Jefferson (D-La.),who informally participated in the inquiry, renewed calls for an independent commission styled after the one that investigated the Sept. 11 attacks, saying that the investigation, while comprehensive, was rushed, failed to compel the White House to turn over documents and held no administration officials accountable.
The White House never turns over anything including a new leaf. Just like this week, after pretending Bush never met privately with Abramoff, pictures bob out of the muck, showing exactly this happening.

So now is time to haul Bush before a Senate committee to explain his relationship with Abramoff! But that will not happen for the culture of corruption and ineptitude is so set in cement, it has sunk the the bottom of the cesspool in DC. And rich people are happy with this for they are feasting off the corpse of America. This is why there is a developing scandal over corporations looting the treasury under the guise of fighting a war and rescuing New Orleans. This rapine is killing us, financially.

We just doubled the budget of the Pentagon and Homeland Security after 9/11, and America rewarded the gang that snoozed away before the attacks (I, personally, think they enabled and encouraged and WANTED the attacks) with vast power and vast funds only to discover it was used to buy the equivelent of party kegs of beer and lap dancers.

Arrest them now. Impeach Bush. Arrest Cheney for shooting someone. Gads. What do they have to do? Eat live bats while raping boys on FOX TV's "American Idle"? What more do we need?
